Just did a tracking by reference using my phone number as everyone has been doing for years and found my phone in transit. It shows a Wednesday delivery schedule but I doubt UPS ever delivers earlier than Apple's launch schedule so I'd just keep watching it until next Friday.

Why does apple say it has all the necessary things to ship but isnt? I am confused as to why they put misleading information on their website but cannot just send mine out with the rest.

Now that I can see my shipment on UPS, one of the options is to hold at a CC near me instead of having it delivered at home.
Has anyone ever tried that before? I read somewhere that they don't hold it at Customer Center for Apple and UPS website also says that they might not hold very expensive packages.

Yeah that happened to me with my Apple Watch Series 6. Put in a hold request at the customer center and it went through. Come pickup/delivery day, it made it on the truck for delivery. I was confused so I went up to the customer center and they said they aren’t able to hold Apple devices for pickup. So my hold at CC request went through but was essentially cancelled without my knowledge and put on a truck for delivery. It came later in the evening so everything was fine, but I won’t be holding Apple packages there anymore.

how many days ahead did you request for them to hold the packages.

That’s weird. Never had that happened to me and was able to request a hold for pick up at UPS CC for my Apple Watch 6. I’ll be doing it again for the iPhone. That only happened to the case I ordered. UPS tracking showed was on vehicle for delivery and then later changed. So I had to wait till the next day to pick it up

I have 2 x iPhone 12 Pro silicone cases and 1 x MagSafe charger shipped since Friday (3 different Fedex tracking numbers). Also one Smart Folio for my new iPad Air, an Otterbox Case for iPhone 12 and 2 x 20W USB-C AC Adapters with 3 different tracking numbers (UPS). Labels created on the 16th for Fedex and the 16th and 17th for UPS but not pickup scam yet. Scheduled delivery for Fedex were for today (Sunday 18th) and for UPS for Tuesday Oct 20th. Apple commitment is for Wednesday Oct 21st. Are any of you guys having the same issue with UPS and Fedex labels created and no pickup? It would be very odd that I have 6 packages not handled to Fedex and UPS, though.

Sorry to potentially burst everyone’s bubble, but it looks like there might be some internal hold that prevents delivery before 10/23. I have another unrelated package coming on 10/21 that I can reschedule in My Choice to deliver as early as 10/22, but the Apple package can only be rescheduled to deliver as early as 10/26 (10/22 and 10/23 are not provided as options).

it could be because the date is still "tentative" and apple may have said "ship as early as 10/21 and as late as 10/23" due to covid.. who knows. we'll know more once it actually enters the US
