I have a genuine question... if we aren’t getting the phones early (which no one knows yet really), why is every getting delivery dates of the 21st? Every other year delivery dates were always on release date. Period. I never had it show any different for me and for most others that preordered. Yeah there was sometimes that exception where one package would show a early delivery date.

This. This isn't what people are realizing. Every iphone i've preordered in the past 5+ years, its always shown the following friday after preorder for the estimated delivery date.

Now that I can see my shipment on UPS, one of the options is to hold at a CC near me instead of having it delivered at home.
Has anyone ever tried that before? I read somewhere that they don't hold it at Customer Center for Apple and UPS website also says that they might not hold very expensive packages.

I have mine held at the CC every year.

This has happened to me with past iPhone orders where UPS initially shows an earlier delivery date. The couriers typically have strict instructions from Apple not to deliver before launch day. I’m still betting on 5 more sleeps before my iPhone arrives at my doorstep.

Never for me. And looking at past posts from previous preorder events it is not common in the least. Just something that I find interesting this year.

Always wonder how this works. We order approximate the same time (8:02am), we get the same delivery date on the 23rd, and many are getting there shipping information while others are not and only see Preparing to ship. I don’t have a clue as to why that is. Anyone?

Possibly ordering different carrier versions? Different models? I would think that the pallets, whatever, of phones are all common on each to reduce risk of sending the wrong one to the wrong person.

I’ve done this for almost all of my past watch and phone orders. Very easy and you can pick up first thing when they open if you want to. They usually have a big metal cart locked up that has only the Apple devices in it. I pick up from the regional distribution center for UPS.

ditto. I’ve done this every year. Much better than having to wait all day for UPS to deliver. And the nearest distribution center is just a couple of miles from me.

Same here. The ladies that work the counter recognize me now when I walk in and say, “I’ll get your package”. ?

That’s weird. Never had that happened to me and was able to request a hold for pick up at UPS CC for my Apple Watch 6. I’ll be doing it again for the iPhone. That only happened to the case I ordered. UPS tracking showed was on vehicle for delivery and then later changed. So I had to wait till the next day to pick it up

Yeah it’s never happened to me before either. It’s like they completed disregarded the hold for pickup and put it on the vehicle anyway. They claimed “security reasons” for not holding Apple products. Understandable but strange because I’ve never had issues in the past.

Ordered a leather case from Amazon that just got here. Actually very impressed with it. I usually buy the Apple leather cases and this honestly feels as good as that.

I have 2 x iPhone 12 Pro silicone cases and 1 x MagSafe charger shipped since Friday (3 different Fedex tracking numbers). Also one Smart Folio for my new iPad Air, an Otterbox Case for iPhone 12 and 2 x 20W USB-C AC Adapters with 3 different tracking numbers (UPS). Labels created on the 16th for Fedex and the 16th and 17th for UPS but not pickup scam yet. Scheduled delivery for Fedex were for today (Sunday 18th) and for UPS for Tuesday Oct 20th. Apple commitment is for Wednesday Oct 21st. Are any of you guys having the same issue with UPS and Fedex labels created and no pickup? It would be very odd that I have 6 packages not handled to Fedex and UPS, though.

yeah, I have a MagSafe case and connector scheduled for Fedex delivery today from Tennessee, but the labels were created Friday at 3pm with no other movement. I don’t think I’ll see them today unless they’re just behind on their scans.

I live in the DC/MD/VA area and every single model in the Pacific Blue from 128-512GB is completely unavailable. I was even willing to drive 50-60 miles for one but they are completely sold out. I called the support line about 3-4 times trying to see if my order could get expedited shipping and they said no possible chance.

The biggest issue was that I was not able to complete the purchase on my ipad. I had it loaded up ready to go but unfortunately I had to leave around 7:20 am and could not bring my ipad. It was a very frustrating moment because my job cost me 3 weeks of ability to use the new phone. I was counting on using it to go to the mountains when the leaves were changing and now im stuck using my crappy OnePlus camera.

After launch, check store stock daily. Models do become available with some frequency.

Did u track it down by ups my choice?

🤔

We don’t get the U.S fancy tracking system here in Australia 😂

Tracking it via our national post tracking system, quite boring actually. 😂

Guessing it’s already here in Sydney 😜 hopefully gets to beautiful Melbourne by Thursday. Hang it there my MagSafe charger I know how you feel, no one likes Sydney. 😂

My UPS account is showing an exception now. Waiting for a charter plane. Last year I think my phone flew on Kalita air.

The planes stop in Alaska for fuel AND customs. They can take more cargo by stopping halfway for more fuel.
