It is now:

Maybe we'll finally see some movement real soon?

I had this issue before where its states the AC+ started before I even had the phone. What do you in this case? Like it shows in your email. How can it start if we don't have the phones yet?

It says it starts from the date shipped. I don't like it. That is just how it is.

I find it odd that my prepaid box to mail in my trade-in is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. In the past, I have always received it a few days AFTER my new device delivers. Still holding out hope Wednesday is the day, but I'm not going to hold my breath as it is looking less and less likely.

Anyone else order the Leather Wallet With Magsafe, shown the wrong color in your order? Apple, told me, I'd get to keep the wrong color for free. Nice bonus lol.
Shows the right color, but won’t deliver until November 10th - 17th

I've had money saved up for this year's iPhone since just after the 11 Pro Max. Been looking forward to the new Max verison. And then I saw the keynote... not as thrilled anymore. Great device but now that all the phones have 5G and OLED screens, much harder choice. I ended up getting the 64GB iPhone 12 to use until next year's phone comes out, hopefully with 120Hz.

I'm getting Max again this year for the camera despite really wanting to downsize. Not sure if my iUP renewal will get approved. Always worry about that, despite this being my fourth time renewing if they let me in Nov.

I also used my XS Max without a case and loved it. I even dropped it a number of times with no damage. Then one day I was outdoors and it slipped out of a pocket when I sat down, it hit the stone patio, and for the last few months I’ve been using it with a large crack in the screen which has basically made it worthless. (No AppleCare). Can’t wait until Friday when I will replace it with my new 12 Pro. Entirely my own fault of course, but this new phone reminds me so much of my beloved 4s which was perfect without a case that I know I will be tempted to go without at some point.

I've learnt one thing, keeping iPhone inside your pocket while sitting is a disaster. It fell once and after that I learnt, it's better to keep on the table, sofa, any flat surface where it doesn't interact with your body.

Once you get the hang of using it the right way, you don't even realise about taking care. I think 90% of the people use case just because they fear to drop their iPhone and indeed it's expensive but there are cases too where iPhone screen breaks even after using the case. It really gets down to how you use it and then it doesn't matter if there's a case on or not.

Even if you don't put your phone in a case, a good quality screen protector like those from Zagg should be on every iPhone buyers list. I've had a Zagg glass on every iPhone I've ever owned since the 4, and I've never had to replace a single screen. Every year Apple says this new model has the strongest screen yet, blah blah blah, and every year the cost of screen replacement goes up. With discount on the website the top of the line InvisiShield protector from Zagg runs 35 bucks, and replacements are free through mail as long as you return the broken original. If you're not comfortable changing the protector yourself most malls have a Zagg kiosk where they'll do it for you for 10 bucks.
Honestly this should be a no brainer on a thousand dollar piece of hardware you take everywhere with you.

That's good to hear. I don't use screen protector cause I realised I don't use on iPad Pro or Apple Watch and it works brilliant. So I gave a shot of not using screen protector on iPhone XS Max and it's working amazing. There's not even a single scratch.

This time I'm more excited about 4x toughness and ceramic shield.

A new (non-regular) appearance on the cargo flight list from CGO to ANC: Air China Cargo flight 1007. Just got shuttled from PVG to CGO about 1 hour ago. Departure from CGO is expected at 5:26 am local time.

I wonder if 11:57 scans are getting on this charter flight.

Right, but I was talking about screen protectors, not cases, which is why I added "even if you don't use a case." I'm totally onboard with folks who eschew getting a case for the reasons you point out, but a screen protector should still be given serious consideration for the reasons I pointed out. I've yet to hear a good argument against them, but as you say it does come down to the person. For me, 35 bucks to protect a thousand dollar investment with no measurable degradation to the user experience is absolutely worth it. YMMV.
I'm not super passionate about this :) but I ditched the screen protector a few years ago and am "naked" now. My reasoning: my glass (tried several different brands every year) would often get fibers/dust under them over time and/or seemed to hang onto finger print oils more than a naked screen. Rather than pay the ~$40 up front for the screen protector (and stress on applying it perfectly), I figure if I ever did get a crack, I'd pay the same $40 to get it repaired under my Apple Care. I end up dropping my phone ~4x every year and have never needed to replace the screen. So net/net, I get to enjoy the naked screen and have the $ saved on not using a protector waiting for a repair if ever needed.

I will add, I have needed to replace a screen one time. I dropped my new 8 onto concrete in my parking garage two days after launch. Had a "edge to edge" glass on it that I got from some company on kickstarter (hadn't seen any others that were edge to edge). The glass shattered of course...but so did the screen. Thankfully, Apple already had a stash of replacement phones (surprisingly as people were still waiting on their orders) so under Apple Care, they just replaced the entire phone same day vs. replace the screen. Was pretty impressed with the customer service.

Can’t believe people freak out every year about lack of movement. You’ll get the phone Friday if your Apple order says you will. And no because it shipped early you aren’t getting it early.
This. I guess if I wasn't such an expert at iPhone launch day deliveries I might care, but this same thing literally happens every year. I don't really even bother checking my tracking info anymore, I know it'll be here Friday lol.
