Oooh I didn't think about this. I am wondering if the 12 mini will have it. My 11 Pro has pretty good service, but I remember my X was on point with service since it was qualcomm.

My XS Max was a nightmare with T-Mobile’s service that I ended up switching to Verizon 16 months in. I just couldn’t deal with the No Service and dropped calls anymore. My XS Max have100% better service with Verizon. I would’ve went back to my X if it was bigger until the 12’a launched.

Aren't all the phones using Qualcomm modems?

At some point, Apple found a way to use the X60 on every US version, so that all US models will have mmWave as well as the sub-6 and T-Mobile 5G bands.

Until recently, everybody thought that only the biggest device would have mmWave, but they slipped that in there at some point.

I'm picking between the 12 and 12 Pro, still not sure which way I'll go. It looks to me like the camera is the biggest difference between the 12 and 12 Pro, and I do not need better pictures than I have.

i never got any 11, and stuck with the XS Max. That's already slightly too big, so the 12 Pro Max doesn't really stand a chance for me, even if at the rollout they say it has 120 Hz after all.

:)

But, I'm just one dumb old man and I'm sure any number of people will be able to justify the huge, honkin' iPhone.

Ladies and Gentlemen: Call your cellular carrier sometime today or tomorrow before iPhones are released. Many carries have promotions going on for 5G + COVID-19. See what type of data plan, discounts, promotions are available and ready to be applied. After the new iPhones are released I wouldn’t be surprised if the prices hike up due to the demand surging.

I just switched my AT&T plan over to Unlimited Elite last month. It was cheaper than what I was paying for the 30GB monthly plan I was on.

Make sure to get yourself a COVID discount $10 off each line.
Yup. My bill went down from around $135. monthly to around $100. after discounts. I‘m on a single line plan, also have the insurance with Assurion. Overkill, I know since I have AppleCare+. But now that AppleCare now offers theft & loss coverage, I’ll be able to drop the Assurion coverage on a new 12 Pro Max.

I’ll be buying on installment plan. That way, if I decide to pay it off early, I have that option. The only thing I don’t like about AT&T installment plans is that you don’t have the option of paying a little extra each month. It’s either pay it off all at once, or continue making the monthly payments. It would be nice to be able to make double monthly payments on the device to pay it off earlier. Easier than coming up with the entire balance all at once.

they say yes. i don’t have a 5g phone yet to confirm but they say 5g won’t change my plan, it’s automatically included.
I would double check on it if that includes in the data plan.

fair enough! I’m planning on buying it outright. Don’t want to deal with installment payments.

Yes! Here it is.

Thanks! Looked this over and maybe I’m missing it, but I don’t see anything about a $10 discount on that link.

I do get a $10 per line premier discount on my unlimited elite plan, but another $10 would be nice!:)

here‘s a quote from t-mobile: “Customers pay no extra for 5G, and still have unlimited data. All you need is a compatible device and access to a tower on T-Mobile’s network. This is different than the other carriers, which charge for access to 5G networks.”

Call at&t and tell them to apply Covid-19 relief discount in all your cell phone lines. They’ll apply it for 6 months.

Wow! I like this:

What you want online, even easier – When you purchase or upgrade your device online, we’ll give you free express shipping, as well as waive or credit the activation, upgrade and restocking fees.

EDIT:
I hope this still applies, since the article is from April.

I will never ever upgrade online again. The last time I did it my phone return sat at the shippers office in Texas 20 miles from the destination for 21 days. AT&T rejected it claiming I took too long to send it back. They would do nothing about it even after checking my tracking. They told me to take the information to my local store but they could not do anything since it is a totally different part of the company. I ended up just selling it back to be done with it and lost money. They told me this happens a lot and to always trade in directly.

I am not sure if I am even upgrading from my Xs Max this year. Have to wait and see the announcement and then give the orders and reviews time to settle. No rush for a better camera until I can actually go somewhere.

I have Verizon’s old “Get More Unlimited” plan before August 20th, so I can use 5G once I receive my 12 Pro Max.

I did mine the same way, but I took pictures of the clerk boxing it, pictures of the receipt and pictures of the shipping label. I was worried about them saying I never shipped it. Luckily, it was fine in the end, but I stressed over it the whole time until I got the notification that it was received.

I wondered when somebody would mention that.

Although it is prolific, T-Mobile is not the very fastest network, usually only equaling a decent LTE-A array for speed.

But it is all over.
