Should we restore from iCloud backup tomorrow? Or is doing the device to device transfer over WiFi faster?

Yep saying goodbye to all my China to Oakland fellow travelers right now. I'll not get it in my hands until close to 9pm (I am at end of ups route), so I look forward to everyone's "it arrived. See you next year" posts.

Landed!

Anyone using IUP know whether we can return the existing phone to Apple with a glass screen protector on, or do we have to remove it?

same, last year my 11 pro was stuck at this until Fri AM when everything updated and was on the UPS truck for delivery. I opted for the 2 hour delivery window, delivering to San Diego, CA
I'm glad to hear even anecdotally that this has happened before AND turned out fine! just very excited for tomorrow and hoping that what happened to you last year is what's happening to a few of us now

I know I will be here tomorrow. I live in Raleigh so from Kentucky it’s a short flight LOL. It’s just exciting getting a new toy

Oh and kudos to T-Mobile. When I chatted with them last night on Twitter they said they would ship the two R15 SIMs ground. I just saw the notice appear in UPS, they shipped them overnight so we will get them tomorrow alongside the phones. :)

My phone and iPad scanned into Boise, ID... very strange. Never had a UPS package go through Boise to get to SLC, especially on Next Day Air service

I ended up ordering from Xfinity because they have me a $250 discount plus I got another $40 rebate from my bank. I kept the Apple order in case the Xfinity one didn’t pan out (never ordered a device from them before) but it’s coming tomorrow.

I don’t think it’s right to buy it and try to resell when others are waiting. Someone will get a phone they otherwise wouldn’t have.

Did you do that because you bought a SIM-less phone? If I bought a Tmobile phone, it should come with the new SIM and I just have to activate it, right? I've been using the same SIM since at least the X..

Correct. I ordered SIM Free, and have a 7+ with same sim for 4 years.
