Looks like many scans were indeed suppressed until now. This is part of my tracking history when viewing it now. Looks like UPS released it all after midnight EDT.

Question: my delivery is scheduled for 10/23. I just submitted a hold at UPS CC request and this is what I'm seeing now. Did anyone else get this after submitting the request? Will I still be able to pick up my phone in the morning?

For the 12:24 anchorage crew - a mechanical failure at 1:00am on 10/22? Probably what caused our significant delays.
also had a delivery estimate of 9:45am-1:45pm tomorrow all today today, and now i am still in louisville after the import scan and my delivery has swapped to ”by 9pm”. Hope it doesn’t slip any further!

Kinda sucks that you don’t see all the details of the tracking and changes til near the end.
You should be okay. This message pop up because you requested a hold so late in the progress, but tonight when they do the sorting, they will see it and flag it for pick up. If you check tomorrow morning, it should be good to pick up.
I was able to pick up my iPhone XS and 11 Pro at the Apple stores, so the last phone I picked up as UPS was the X. I got there 30 minutes before open and the line was already 5-10 people deep.
I have to get in and out to grab lunch and be at work by 11 so I’m planning to get there at 9:30 tomorrow! I’ll be the pasty white guy hiding from the sun under an umbrella lol

Yep it’s really 10am. I don’t know how early to get there to avoid lines. When I went in April for something else the line took forever.
Looks like that restriction lifts at 12 am EDT on the day of delivery.
You might be better off at a carrier store. Last year my friend switched carriers to Verizon and bought a phone at lunch on launch day in 2 minutes when there was an 1hr+ line at the Apple store in the same mall

Of noteworthy interest is that the “customs release” in the US varies by package. I have a different time even though we’re part of the same flight. Does that mean the pallets from each flight are broken down first and sent through customs clearance before they go back into a warehouse to await an import scan?
Yes, but if you buy it from a carrier it'll be locked to that carrier, just FYI.
I hope you don't end up having to learn all the ways that can go wrong. Different people have different levels of tolerance for risk and hassle, and there are plenty of people who would happily take less money for less risk and hassle.
I think that only applies if you buy under an installment plan. If you pay in full for the phone, I believe it’s still unlocked.

I won’t stay up for the trip to Lubbock from Dallas, just 1 UPS plane coming in at about 3:30 am After a 1 hour flight.

Mine got to a different customer centre at 8:30 tonight, and as of 30 minutes ago it left that centre, hopefully to my centre, fingers crossed. So yeah, that can happen.
No, they are dropping it off at my house. I usually have AM delivery UPS. Funny thing, I have multiple packages coming every day lately. I was supposed to get three today, and I got two. So I will get multiples tomorrow...
