Not sure of the accuracy of this, but I read somewhere in here that you do have to be present and state your name, but a physical signature is not required. They will just leave it at your door.
That's what i heard as well. I'm sure we'll get some real life answers in the next 3 hours

How’s the i store pickup line this morning? Thinking of swinging by to pick mine up, even though my appointment window is for tomorrow
The sign on the door at my mall says that they won’t even open the entrance to the mall until 8am and not to line up (aka wait in your car). So we’ll see, as my appt is for 8-8:15. I think the mall generally doesn’t open up until 11.

Status is now "Preparing for Delivery." I've had packages get stuck on this status before, only to be delayed. I'll have to just hope that there's some weirdness with the scanning and that my phone found its way to a truck.

OKAY looks like they held a truck or something!

So hopefully I'm getting my phone today, and this is the last you'll be hearing from me! Thanks, fellow travelers!

Well, beans. I'm in the Philly Suburbs and woke up to see the delivery slipped to Monday with the same message others in my area have noted (phone is in Laurel, MD with the status of "A late UPS trailer arrival has delayed delivery. We're adjust plans to delivery your package as quickly as possible").

I just refreshed and there is no longer a delivery date, only the yellow ! icon that says "Delay: An emerency situation or severe weather condition has delayed delivery." It's foggy in the region, but that's about it... lame. Hopefully everything is alright

Moved from Loaded on Delivery Vehicle to Out for Delivery...only took 2 hours. Anyone know if the iOS 14.2 beta is out for the iPhone 12 yet? Was thinking about downgrading to 14.1 while I wait.

Now, to wait for them to scan it in and then, it'll be ready for pick-up! Problem is, will-call is only from 9-10 and 4:30-6 and I go to work at 9 and get off at 6. I may just have to be a few minutes late to work 😂

Woo! Just a little over 2 hours to wait until my local CC opens - the phone is there waiting for me!

My wife’s phone moved from MSP to Shakopee (the next town over) in a matter of 3 hours. Now showing “Final Destination Scan” and “Out for Delivery”. Less worried about it not arriving today now :)

After lots of refreshing and worried about getting from point A to B it’s Out for delivery. It’s been fun following the thread.

Come on ups now your lying and saying there was an emergency. Smh a lazy driver drove to slow or waited to long to start the trailer route.

My store is about 5 minutes away and opens at 8 (10 minutes from now). Going to head on over! Hopefully the non appointment window isn’t too crazy since I’m picking up earlier than my window

Same here. Very disappointed.

Ultimately it’s at the drivers discretion. If he’s had no theft problems in the area, he might leave it. I just wouldn’t count on it.
True, I would imagine they have a list of areas that require signature. They probably have to weigh the cost of a package getting stolen vs delivering an extra 20 packages a day. At the end of the day, a theft is just a cost of doing business, and they may be more profitable even with a theft.
