I thought 5G wasn’t out in my area but apparently it is. The speeds are faster than LTE but it don’t feel like much to me.

After all of the cases I bought, I’m sticking with 5. All the rest went back.

- Ringke Fusion: wearing this one now. This is the best clear case out of all that I tried, including Spigen, elago, and totallee. It has the right amount of grip without being too thick or thin. It also has a minimal raise at each of the corners so if you want to put the phone face down, you don’t have to worry. Like it so much, I ordered the Ringke Glitter version to have a second case with bit of sparkle.

- I also kept the peacock case, the Kate Spade sparkle case, the wine-red TPU case, and the blue marble case.

Apple cases:
- I‘m exchanging the Baltic Blue case for the California Poppy. This will be an interesting pairing with the Pacific Blue. Too bad there isn’t a more orange version in the leather, then I can rep the Bears.
- I‘m waiting for the Kumquat and Plum cases to arrive (Amazon said they were delayed??), but I’m not sure if those will be keepers for me. If they end up being dust magnets, they are going back. Silicone is either slick, a dust magnet, or both, but I do like the colors so I’m giving them a shot.

Screen Protectors
I originally bought iCarez through some early recommendations that I saw. They were okay applying to DH’s 12 Pro, but I messed up the first to get the second right. Constant wiping to fingerprints and I don’t have oily hands.

Saw recommendations for Spigen. I was skeptical because I don’t like their cases, but I decided to try those out the screen protectors for my 12 Pro Max... Flawless application on the first try. So easy to apply. Very smooth feel. It’s not thick like the iCarez (you’d have to see both to understand). Best part, it doesn’t show a new fingerprint nearly every time I touch the screen. These will be my new screen protectors going forward. Already ordered more to have on hand just in case.

Took a bunch of night mode pics since the rain was basically a mist. This was pitch dark from my backyard other than lights from my garage and a couple of solar lights on the fence. The neighbor’s lights aren’t as bright as they appear.

The first pic is .5 zoomed out. The second is the regular lens. You be the judge.

I Second the Spigen EZ Fit screen protectors. I’ve used them on several phones and they’re awesome.

My everyday case is the Cyrill Color Brick in black. I had this case on my last phone and it lasted well and worked great for me.

I work in construction, so when on the job my phone wears the Pelican G10 Shield case (in camo, of course). A little bulky, but a drop rating of over 20 feet.

And I had to get the California Poppy leather case! ?

Wow thank you for all of this info. I too got the icarez and struggled to apply the first one as well. How funny!

I’ll have to check out the Spigen protectors. Thanks for the links.

I think I prefer the 12 Pro. I want to love the Max but it’s too big for me.

The 12 Pro is a great size. My X was perfect but with time I’m sure adjust.

I tried the 12 Pro for a couple of days just to be sure, but I found it to be too small. I lIke the Pro’s size for what it is, but no go for me. I’ve been Plus/Max since Apple started with the 6+ so that’s probably why only the large size feels right to me.

You’re welcome! You will love the Spigen screen protectors.

Seriously, after I applied it, I was like, this is it? That easy? Really? Wow.

My Speedtests - done back to back sitting here in the same spot.

LTE is better than 5G for me. Yes, I have the 5G SIM, picked it up a couple of days ago. My plan is a new 5G plan. Already reset network settings. I may call in, but my LTE blows away anything that my XS Max and 11 Pro Max ever achieved.

Yes Qualcomm, welcome back! 🙌🏽

I think I would’ve been fine if I went XS Max directly to 12 Max but after trying the 12 Pro I can’t seem to get used to the Max again.

I made the mistake of switching over from ATT to VZ and instantly regretted it in the DC area due to lackluster speeds (50mbps and ultra wideband being hard to come by). I took my number back to ATT and never looking back. It’s not ultra wideband speeds but it’s awesome.
