Have you tried it with a lower watt brick, and if so, does it still get hot? I like the MagSafe for the convenience. I’m not so concerned with super fast charging, so I am using it with my 18w iPad brick and the MagSafe gets warm but not overly hot.
No, not yet. I would charge my old phone sometimes with my 12W brick used on my 1st gen iPad Pro and never had a problem.

After unboxing the 12 PM, updating to 14.2 and charging to fill 100%, it was warm, not not. But I think that was normal after the update, phone was indexing.

I had the 5G icon briefly Friday morning, but it switched to LTE. This morning is the first since I've seen it since. (I was out around my neighborhood, didn't see the 5G once). Speed however...ouch.

I did load up Instagram yesterday a few times, the LTE though under this new modem is noticeably much faster! The old LTE, phone would struggle at times.

Well interesting I always explore the improvements on my new iPhones and then mostly forget for the year. As I mentioned in earlier I am in bad area. I got to looking and found a site confirming my suspicion and experience. I am smack dab on edge/overlap of three AT&T towers. Again Verizon same issue. I found the three towers and some displays showing where signal goes and sure enough i am almost missed by all three of them. I found a iOS app that gives reporting of signal and for both Verizon and AT&T my neighborhood is at that worst possible spot. Reports give 3G plus speed and strength not average LTE.

At least my new 12 ProMax though has doubled to tripled the speed I got with my 11 ProMax and its Intel modem so that is what I wanted.

Camera is greatly improved another reason for upgrading and the speed is noticeably improved on apps and there opening ect. Another win for me.

But I guess next year I might need to upgrade my 2016 Mazda 6 in case they go wireless charging only as we has discussed LOL. And i may need to update my house for better reception probably not getting local tower improvements anytime soon ;-)

Went on a 5k yesterday on an awesome 50F NYC Fall day. Running 4.3 on the ProMax, here's an exported JPG from an Apple ProRAW DNG pic I took:
Looks awesome. I am impressed with this new 12ProMax. I loved my 11ProMax but the camera is more improved (for me) than I hoped. The skies are blue like I see in the lense, colors are truer, things sharper just in automatic mode and I have all the camera apps available that will let me tinker more. Night mode on all three lenses is a big improvement over the 11ProMax. Although most rumors up to announcement for this phone had not grabbed me after I heard the details in the Apple announcement I knew I wanted it and have not been disappointed its more of a major upgrade than I had expected. And of course they have big camera improvements already for the “13” and a probably more energy efficient Qualcomm modem is likely so I will probably keep upgrading as I have had for along time LOL

I'm on the same boat! I honestly love the 12 Mini more since its small and really comfortable to hold. 12 Pro is just too big for me.
Does sound like a tough decision for you. Can I ask-what was your previous phone? I guess I am wondering if you are used to the smaller sizes? I would like a smaller size but my old eyes need more screen space-LOL!

I did a Face ID side by side test with my XS Max and they unlocked at exactly the same speed. I thought the iPhone 11 and up was supposed to have 30% faster Face ID than XS?

What is the app that you can use to find towers? I’ve always been curious as to where local towers are.

Out of curiosity, would saving it in ProRaw give better photo quality than saving in HEIC? Or is ProRaw only useful if you plan on editing it. I only ask because that's a phenomenal shot, and I'm not sure if it' just the camera itself or if it has something to do with ProRaw. I also need to add there was a LOT of complaints about lens flare with the 12 Pro. I wonder if the lack of lens flare here has to do with the Max or the ProRaw.

I ordered my 12 Pro Max around five days ago and it's scheduled to be delivered December 4-11 and my card has yet to be charged or anything at all. Is that normal?

After all of the cases I bought, I’m sticking with 5. All the rest went back.

- Ringke Fusion: wearing this one now. This is the best clear case out of all that I tried, including Spigen, elago, and totallee. It has the right amount of grip without being too thick or thin. It also has a minimal raise at each of the corners so if you want to put the phone face down, you don’t have to worry. Like it so much, I ordered the Ringke Glitter version to have a second case with bit of sparkle.

- I also kept the peacock case, the Kate Spade sparkle case, the wine-red TPU case, and the blue marble case.

Apple cases:
- I‘m exchanging the Baltic Blue case for the California Poppy. This will be an interesting pairing with the Pacific Blue. Too bad there isn’t a more orange version in the leather, then I can rep the Bears.
- I‘m waiting for the Kumquat and Plum cases to arrive (Amazon said they were delayed??), but I’m not sure if those will be keepers for me. If they end up being dust magnets, they are going back. Silicone is either slick, a dust magnet, or both, but I do like the colors so I’m giving them a shot.

Screen Protectors
I originally bought iCarez through some early recommendations that I saw. They were okay applying to DH’s 12 Pro, but I messed up the first to get the second right. Constant wiping to fingerprints and I don’t have oily hands.

Saw recommendations for Spigen. I was skeptical because I don’t like their cases, but I decided to try those out the screen protectors for my 12 Pro Max... Flawless application on the first try. So easy to apply. Very smooth feel. It’s not thick like the iCarez (you’d have to see both to understand). Best part, it doesn’t show a new fingerprint nearly every time I touch the screen. These will be my new screen protectors going forward. Already ordered more to have on hand just in case.

Ringke Fusion case - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08H5X5X4Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Spigen Glass screen protectors - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DQGH9T1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have the Spigen on my iPhone Pro Max 12 right now and I am loving it, too easy to apply, it is like a joke. I ordering another pair.

Yeah. My first iPhone style was from iPod Touch 3 to iPhone 5s, iPhone 6s, and then Xs. Now 12 Mini Vs. 12 Pro. I was honestly hoping Apple would keep the Xs/11 Pro style for 12 Pro and I'd be happy camper. But 12 Pro size is just too big and 12 Mini is perfect. You can reach the entire phone with thumb! Honestly, I wasn't much excited when I got the 12 Pro, but the 12 Mini I was excited since day one!

I see and understand why you are leaning toward the Mini! It appears to be the right choice for you based on your previous sizes. Enjoy!!

I have been always a fan of spigen....but the clear cases have always turned yellow after a few months.

This time i have ordered ringke fusion matte clear case for my 12 Pro Max....hopefully this one turns out to be better.
