I made the mistake of switching over from ATT to VZ and instantly regretted it in the DC area due to lackluster speeds (50mbps and ultra wideband being hard to come by). I took my number back to ATT and never looking back. It’s not ultra wideband speeds but it’s awesome.
I had the opposite happen to me in the Clinton to Waldorf area of MD. AT&T started to suck hard so I went to Verizon and am generally much happier with my signal strength.

First time I used magsafe charger and 20W power adapter, and here‘s my observation:

^it does make my phone hot.
^it does not charge fast, it seems like it does as fast as a normal charger. It has been charging for over 2 hours and still at 76%.
^but i also think it either slowed down or stopped charging (maybe when the phone gets really hot) and it could be why it takes longer to charge.

does anybody experience this as well?
Same! I tried it for the first time earlier tonight. Phone was much warmer, to the point I felt it could have doing harm to it. I don't know. Whatever the case, I won't use it now. (Been over 14 days since I bought it, so ...guess I'm stuck)

Maybe it will work well with my iPad Pro...I'll try it later. Maybe an iPhone update will work better with this 20W. For now, I'll stick with my QI charger.

I think my use case scenario for a MagSafe would be to have it on my nightstand to put my phone on without fumbling around for the lighting cable. I prefer to slow charge overnight.

Well I live in edge of Urbana Il. Cell signal sucks here for both AT&T (which I have) and Verizon. One bar mostly. Two bars best in house. I can get 3 bars on north side outside on good days. So glad my Xfinity gives me 100-120 mbs. Here is my test with my prefered speedsmart app. Speedtest gives me poor results compared. Anyway with two bars I get over 50 mbs with 5G and with one bar either side of 40. LTE was 3 bars inside something I never got in house with my 11 ProMax. Usually one bar occasionally two. LTE was typically in 20’s. So as I hoped the better Qualcomm modem has improved LTE substantially and I get better speeds when two bars with 5G. I typically with all my iPhones use Wi-Fi at home but outside its weak and I suspect that I will see improvements there with the Qualcomm. All what I hoped in this marginal area. On another good side note with my older phones even the 11ProMax I was getting 75-100 of my supposed 100-200mbs Xfinity. But now getting 120 Mbs or more with my new phone. Another issue is I have my airport express split with 2.4 and 5ghz bands. The 5 does not make it outside of house so it used to fall back to 2.4 when I went out and came back and I had to force older phones on the 5. It seems to jump over to the 5 easier on own now so the WiFi seems better in this 12ProMax to me

We have 1GB wifi here in Upper Marlboro and it's glorious.
My neighborhood only has Comcast/Xfinity. I am supposed to get 200 Mbs but typically in lower 100’s. There is 1 GB fiber in town but not nearby, our neighborhood too low end they are only in “better” neighborhoods. To get it here I have to get 40 percent of neighborhood on for the fiber most are not well to do (I am retired geologist from state of Illinois) and Comcast has cheaper plan (than what I pay) most are on. So it works fine for us but would love to get 1GB ;-)

yeah someone else just pointed that out to me, and it should have been obvious, but I wasn't thinking. I live in the city, and parking and driving are a nightmare, so I have spent like 5 years taking Lyft and the bus. just not accustomed to the car anymore I guess.
I don’t even own a car anymore due to living in the city. I take the subways and buses as my main way of transportation.

Anyone notice how much smoother the screen is, i know the refresh rate is the same as the 11 pro max, but I notice less ghosting when scrolling on black backgrounds.

You just had a bad display on your 11 pro bc mine never did that
Sorry not ghosting lol but black smearing. Its not a bad display because its apparent in most oled screens even on my x black smearing was a problem. The 12 pro max display seems to have alleviated the oled black smearing.

So... I was so pissed I thought I wasn’t going to get my iPhone today that I found the only store in my area with today pickup on the iPhone 12 mini. So I went to the Apple Store only to come home to find UPS left my phone that they said was going to be delivered monday without ANYONE signing for it. So now I have two 12 minis lol. I was kinda planning on returning the blue one I ordered online anyway.

That really sucks. How come you didn't request a hold to be picked up at UPS CC? I've had no issues in the past request this despite that there are restrictions to apple's packages...
I did request a hold. An hour after they called me back and said I cant pick up phones anymore for some reason.

Have you tried it with a lower watt brick, and if so, does it still get hot? I like the MagSafe for the convenience. I’m not so concerned with super fast charging, so I am using it with my 18w iPad brick and the MagSafe gets warm but not overly hot.

I was with T-Mobile for 6 years before switching to Verizon in August of this year. It’s like night and day for me and I wish I would’ve switched a long time ago. Yes T-Mobile may have better perks but the service mean more to me.
