Carrier Apple.com New 2018 iPhone Pre-Order Thread

Psh my Best Buy still has iPhones available for release day pickup so they should have cases if nothing else.

Im not that concerned, I just like to have it in my hand BEFORE the phones arrive. (I'm not that patient also..lol)
I'll find one before Friday, I'll try Thursday night..if no luck then I just may go out Friday morning and pick one up, I expect stores will have them. I RATHER use Best Buy since I do have a store credit and a $10 off coupon that is about to expire.

I’d imagine you likely have an office job? Also majority of people use cases because we don’t want scratches or cracks from drops. My iPhone X looks brand new without a case and isn’t bulky either.

Idk man, I feel like ppl might be underestimating the strength of the glass. I've dropped my 8 Plus on concrete several times and never once gotten a crack. Scratches and scuffs, sure, but I mean I'm trading in my phone anyway with the IUP, so I don't really need to hold resale value.

I do admit though, I'm more daring about going caseless than most. I even carried my Jet Black 7 Plus without a case :0

The food is cooking now!!! Read the MacRumors article in regards to people getting tracking numbers which lead me to check my UPS Choice account and saw that there was a tracking number! The Apple Store App, still says Pre-paring to Ship.

Just told the boss that I'll be working from home Friday to sign for my new baby!

I've thought about getting a wallet case for the same reason, but I feel like a lot of wallet cases make it less pocketable. Which case did you get?

Looove my wallet case. It’s a VRS leather wallet. I have it for my 7+, and it has lasted through regular use (and some short drops off my bed and sofa) since Nov 2017 when I got it, there’s only a few signs of wear. I was stoked to see they updated the case for the XS Max, so I ordered that on 9/13, it’s scheduled to deliver 9/20. The Apple leather wallet looked amazing too, especially in the Forrest Green, but I couldn’t justify a $130 price tag for a case.

Is the back glass part of the $99-to-fix stuff with AppleCare?

Omg, i regret my Jet Black 7+.. Kept it in a case almost the entire time and even dust that gets in the camera cutout makes little marks in the finish.. Just drives me a little crazy. Hopefully (?) it will be harder to see on Gold..

Wow maybe I've been dropping my phone in just the right way so it doesn't crack. What are the odds. (don't tell me) Although it YMMV because of X vs 8+.

I use a tempered glass screen protector on my X and had used one on my 7 Plus Jet Black. Took the hit when it came out of my pocket crossing a street once. Also I read recently that the X screen was getting scratches ridiculously easy.

Nope..only Tues. The trend continues I guess, That time period from Pre-Order to phone delivery, the entire week...no matter what, drags on like a snail.

I swear, if I didn't pre order the phone, today would be Thursday LOL.

Mine has finally appeared in UPS (searched via reference number using my order number).

However, UPS shows that it's shipping to Brooklyn, NY, but I live in Atlanta. Anyone else have the "shipping to" show somewhere that's not correct?

It should be to you at your address. Try using your telephone number as the reference.

Nope, same.
I saw a few pages back their phone left at 6:10 pm - it HAS the same "Arrival scan of 2:10, 9/17 in ZhengZhou" as mine, many others here.

I'll check back UPS later, I DO have a good feeling it will leave ZhengZhou soon.
