My baby is flying to Louisville now

Ok, getting a little concerned now. Both my phone and watch are still showing as "preparing to ship" with a Sept 21st delivery. Is it common to see this at this point - two days out??

Thanks guys!

No need to be concerned! Everyone's order still shows Preparing to Ship and most likely will until late today or tomorrow when phones start arriving in Kentucky. Don't rely on the Apple website. Instead, go to UPS and sign up for the free UPS My Choice. Very likely that you'll be able to see tracking details.

You may also be able to track by reference # on UPS using either your phone number + zip code, or order # minus the last 2 digits. But so far, it sounds like it's been easier/more reliable to just use UPS My Choice.

What will happen .... today or tomorrow ... is the tracking will all of a sudden show 10 new updates and the phones will be in Louisville ..... that happened to me last year ...

I agree. I was one of the ones who got my iPhone 7 Plus on Saturday because of a shipping issue back in 2016, but I agree, I think we will get a bunch of scans all at once. It’s not like they just leave these things sitting in China!

I really think much of ups tracking is broken this year!

I agree...it seems like there is a big lag between actual scans showing up on the website. Last night it did not show any of the scans before going to bed. This morning it all of yesterdays activity finally showed up.

Same here: my Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus showed up on Saturday. I was really surprised that UPS expedited those packages for a Saturday delivery.

What happened if you don't mind me asking? Do you have any pictures of your old tracking information?

Happens every year with this big rush of shipments for opening day, add to that typhoons in China, and flooding and storms in US and you have for a complex situation that their tracking just does not cover, and given that loads of pallets are being loaded at once scans doe not always show until arrival and splitting up at the regional hubs like Louisville

There usually are issues with the updates during the launch times. If you know how to use it, you can get a better idea of exactly where if you know how to use Flight Aware and know the normal Apple shipping routes. Like mine, currently, is in Anchorage, Alaska. I know that it should be going to Louisville next. From there it will go to Oak Creek WI (for me, of course), and from there out to my local hub. Knowing that information, and matching the updates with UPS, I can track the UPS flights through to Oak Creek, and from Oak Creek I know it's only a few hours from my local hub on a truck. Mine's almost home.

THANK YOU! The order number minus the last 2 digits worked for me! Apple says processing but UPS has had it for a couple days and it's in S Korea!

Mine has shipped with tracking but none of that with Apple, as it still says preparing to ship at the store. You can get your tracking number on the UPS website. Either become a paid member of UPS My Choice or when you go to track on UPS website choose Track by Reference and enter your phone number or the Order # minus the last 2 digits.
