I don't think so. I think you can pre sign via Apple once you have an invoice. Personally I don't dare. I'm taking the morning off, my wife the afternoon, so one of us is here to sign. UPS CC is too far from us.

Oh, the tracking by reference worked. 12:01 order left Anchorage, AK last night at 11:15pm. UPS system is having problems but mine should be at the distribution center in KY by now. All good.

As of right now, NOBODY has a "Shipped" from Apple. Maybe in a few hours, but for now, it's all Preparing to Ship, and we're using UPS reference #'s / UPS MyChoice to track.

Was just looking over on some carrier threads to see how they where doing with shipments. Verizon is using FedEx and they won't let you pick it up. They won't hold it until 1 delivery attempt is made.

We all are showing that. Most likely changes tonight by tomorrow morning. Assuming you are talking about the Apple order screen showing Preparing for Shipment.

I ordered a 7 Plus from Verizon for release day when they came out and it was a pain. I had a misspelling in my address (thankfully not enough to affect it) but Verizon set strict rules with FedEx. No Holding for pickup, No address changes, No Delivery to a neighbor. It was a pain. Thankfully i don't have Verizon anymore

Yes and nobody will see "Shipped" until it leaves Louisville, KY. At that point it's en route to final destination. Your Apple Store app should throw an alert and it will be front page/above the scroll news on MacRumors as soon as alerts go out.

I changed mine to pre-sign last night but I think I'm going to cancel it. UPS/USPS are both famous for leaving deliveries at the building next door to mine at the same apartment number and today already I've had to look like a package thief when I retrieved an Amazon delivery put on the wrong doorstep. Don't need that kind of grief.

My XS Max is showing Tentative on 9/21 after AK scan. When I spoke to UPS Customer rep he said the original date of delivery was 9/19 (lol) and it changed to 9/21. how ill-informed this guys are!
When I told him this is an apple product which cannot be delivered before 9/21 this is what he had to say
"Hopefully, the package will be available for pickup on that date. However, before going to pick up your package, please track your shipment on UPS.com to confirm that the hold for pickup request was completed. A scan will display noting that the Delivery Change Request has been completed"
Me : Hopefully ? What do you mean ?
Rep : "I meant that some Apple shipments may experience delays because of the special contract we have with them. At the moment, I see no issues with this shipment, and the delivery date is 09/21/18"
Weirdest tracking experience this and the amount of iPhones movement is not even close to X shipments last year!

Unlikely. I have 3 items coming and three tracking numbers. It’s always been that way, AFAIK.
These people have no idea what they're talking about. You'll get it on 9/21, don't even worry, just have fun here.

I mean he can't see every detail he can't guarantee anything all he can say is hopefully it's ready on 9/21 from the info he has. He probably can't see anymore tracking or info than we can right now

I’ve asked UPS support 3 times which CC my phone is being processed through and they’ve said the same place each time... but I still don’t trust them. There’s two CCs in my city and I’m not about to risk a delay by picking the wrong one just because support guesses wrong or is just telling me the CC closest to my delivery address by a smidge on some auto search...
