Carrier Apple.com New 2018 iPhone Pre-Order Thread

My card was just charged and it now says “preparing for shipment.”

What does this mean?? Is it coming Friday?? Or next week?

Same with me. I have a 9/28-10/5 date but it changed to "Preparing to ship" late last night... I can't find any tracking info on UPS with any sort of finesse... probably won't see it until next week but praying the Apple/UPS gods deliver some good ass service!!! Come thruuu please

Reading through most of this over time, many people are just really impatient or this is their first time.

Like many others have said, if you are able to lookup your tracking on UPS, you are pretty much for sure getting it on the 21st. UPS knows what they’re doing. I wouldn’t worry at all. You won’t really get a for sure update on tracking until late Thursday.

Ups scans aren’t that reliable. I wouldn’t set my watch by it that’s for sure. I had things shipped and the first scan was out for delivery lol

That stinks.

But it’s not much better for those of us where it’s sitting in ZZ or Hongkong since early Monday. But still better. I hope you get some updates soon.
 
Just got a departure scan from Anchorage at 3:32 PM. UPS63 is carrying our phones. It should arrive in Louisville in a little over 4 hours!

I have departure scans from Alaska for my 2 phones!! They’re closer to homeeee . My watch on the other hand left Shanghai 7 hrs ago and hasn’t checked it anywhere else

No doubt UPS hasn't even received notice of shipment but getting charged and the order moving to Preparing to Ship is the first indicator that things are moving. Here's how it usually goes.

Day 1 Preparing to ship/CC Charged
Day 2 Label created and searchable in UPS system
Day 3 Arrival Scan
Day 4 ---------------------------------
Day 5 | Earth orbits sun mockingly |
Day 6 ---------------------------------
Day 7 Something happens but no one can tell what
Day 8 Delivery

Very true. I have seen that as well. As far as past iPhone releases go, I seem to remember knowing for sure sometime on Thursday.
