You might think that thru. You won't be able to cancel until you receive the phone. If you can't cancel, you can't get a phone at the store - your number is already marked for the upgrade. Typically the in stock at stores dry up for a bit after opening day (although the Xs, Xr thing might make things different this year). And if you have IUP, you already had your credit check.

I am pretty sure the phones/products clear customs at the plant. The plant is in some kind of trade zone and very close to ZZ airport. I mean clear Chinese customs ...

They don't they clear in Louisville. But being a world ease shipment they clear as one shipment not each individual package.

No- they have to clear a trade thing in CN but US customs is in Louisville. You'll see the tracking show that it cleared customs when you wake up on Friday morning! I've seen the tracking that the plane landed early morning and still clear customs and get out of the hub to distribution for delivery on Friday - every year.

1) FYI, for anybody worried, you're being told over and over to not to. UPS can get your phone from China to your local UPS center so it makes the delivery truck much quicker than you think. I've had times when the plane lands hours before the delivery trucks move out and it makes it.

2) Its plausible your phone isn't where you think it is with UPS.

3) Apple/UPS have been doing this for a decade and every year they get it done. A tincy tincy portion of people get their shipment messed up. It won't be you.

4) I've been doing this for 8 years (since the 4S). I've had plenty of "oh my goodness it won't make it" moments. Never happens.

Relax, your phone will be in your hands Friday.

Same phone, same everything. I was 2:10 ZZ on 9/17. If you’re the same it almost has to be on the same flight as mine I would think. It got to Louisville at 9:15 this morning.

Watch the videos and read up. There is a wing within WorldPort that manages international arrivals and customs clearance. There is a large section of bonded warehousing that holds items waiting to be cleared for customs, which is likely where most of our phones are right now. The rest will arrive tonight and tomorrow. This isn't' the busiest day of the year for UPS so the phones will be ushered into the system with everything else shipping Thursday for Friday delivery.
