Carrier Apple.com New 2018 iPhone Pre-Order Thread

Thought I'd share my sob story about having ordered an hour after pre-orders began. Ordered an XS 256gb space gray with an est delivery date of sept 28 - oct 5th. 1st time w/ apple upgrade program- loan was approved but cc still hasn't been charged. Order is still "processing" and no luck w/ the UPS tracking by reference trick... guess I'll have to work on being more patient!

Just as a fyi, my package is no longer showing "exception" on the UPS website...but I called and confirmed with UPS that it is still scheduled to be picked up at the CC.

That is the only change to my tracking, losing the exception. Otherwise it is still in Hong Kong, according to tracking. Oh and also no more tentative.

Scanning is still broken. My Apple Watch is in Anchorage as it was scanned onto the flight there, but I have yet to receive the scan yet. So broken or delayed... it’s still not back to normal.
(Many others on those flights have received arrival scans)

This is such a cool an interesting thread. I hoper some of you can pause and appreciate how amazing modern logistics is and think about your phone months from now and how it took quite a journey to arrive! My Xs Max left Anchorage on Tuesday at 1115pm UPS flight 2997 and landed Louisville at 915am Wednesday morning. No scan yet in Louisville but I'm sure it is there. High degree of confidence phone will arrive Friday.

ID needs to match package address. Last year I was in CC and someone in the line tried to pickup iPhone but UPS refused since ID does not match package address.

That’s not true. My iPhone was supposed to be shipped to my dads household last year in which I had it held. I do not have the same address as him, I brought my order number from the Apple website and that was enough including my ID..

That’s not true. My iPhone was supposed to be shipped to my dads houseboat last year in which I had it held. I do not have the same address as him, I bought my order number from the Apple website and that was enough including my ID..

I also picked up my phone one year with an ID that didn’t have a matching address.

Nice! I'm lucky in that I can work from home once a month or so. But as far as Christmas, totally! My husband and I don't really do gifts or "stuff" as much as we choose to do trips or experiences together. So when iPhone season comes around, it's basically Christmas for me

Same here. I don’t smoke or drink so when it comes to the iPhone that’s one thing I splurge on.

Maybe try standing in line and canceling your first order as soon as you get it? The pre-approval puts a wrinkle into this age-old plan, but since you haven’t been charged there should be a chance.
