Ordered via app at 12:06 PST.
Confirmation email received at 12:29 PST

Tell me why my shipping shows Oct. 05 - Oct. 12 but if I go to place a new order it shows Sept. 25 - Oct. 5.

Forgot pre order was last night cause i figured it was tonight. So Pre ordered at 6:30am PST this morning and since they were out of ATT 256 XS Max's i had to get a 512gb. but still got it for launch day pick up at 10am

Originally pre-ordered last night for the XS Max 64 GB gold and had sept 21 delivery date, but switched to Space Grey 256 GB as I felt that was a better "deal" and now have Sept 28 - Oct 5. Previously stated i'd never pay over $1K for a cell phone but Apple got me lol. DEFINITELY keeping this thing for at least the next 5ish years so no more apple products for me!

I set up the Apple store app beforehand so that once ordering started it only took one click at 3am and it was done. The store app even set a reminder on my calendar.

I was getting too stressed waiting for the edit button to appear, which it has not yet. I gave online chat another go and the chat employee told me right off the bat that they can't make shipping address changes but phone support can. I gave phone support a call, asked them to change the shipping address to be the same as my billing address and after a couple of minutes on hold she told me that she had made the change. I now see the correct shipping address on my order page.

I highly recommend making the call to apple, the hold time was only a little over 10 minutes.
I had a chat agent tell me that she could update my address, but that it A) wouldn’t show up on the order status page and B) had a “50/50” chance of delaying my order. She could not guarantee it wouldn’t delay the order, so I just told her to not change anything.

I’ll give them a call now and see what I can find out. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll report back after the call!

EDIT: Yep, they were able to update it with no issue. No delay in the order, and the correct address is now showing on the order status page. Seems the phone agents are the only ones able to do that, for those reading this.

My credit card still hasn't been charged and I placed my order at 205 AM. Is that normal ?
I ordered my XS Max Space Grey 256GB at 2:02 am and got a temporary hold for taxes on my CC around 11:00 this morning. This is the quickest in 3 years that I’ve seen any activity. It usually takes at least 24 hours but this is shaping up to be an unusual pre order.

Had everything set up in the Apple Store.. a few clicks later, done deal maybe 2 min process "max".. Apple makes it easy to take all my money ;)

Does anyone have any idea what this photo means? I ordered my phone for a Verizon trade-in on the installment plan however I was charged the full amount for the phone.

Specifically is says month-month service? Seems odd considering I went through the questions of what condition my current device is in.

I
So, when the charge is "pending" on your credit card, is that just an authorization or the actual charge waiting to go through? Delivery date is 9/21 and Apple still says "processing".
I have a “Temporary Authorization” pending since about 11:00am on my CC. Ordered at 2:02am. Order still shows as “Processing”

Long story short, just now I was able to order an unlocked space gray 256 GB or 512GB Xs Max with the same Sept 28 - Oct 5 predicted delivery dates as the AT&T iUP upgrade phone I ordered in the first few minutes of pre-order. The later delivery date works better for me (I'd rather it doesn't get bumped up to the 21st!) so I did that with my work address, now it won't matter when it shows up, someone will be there to sign for it. I'll have to pay off and sell my X, but overall this feels like way less hassle. They really need to work on the whole iUP thing if they want people to do that. (But kudos to Apple for finally having reasonable launch stock for once.)

It was a snap to order my Xs Max, 256 Gold, Sept 21 delivery. I used the phone app and am on the yearly trade in. I then went to Apple.com on my I pad and had to refresh a few times to order the aluminum silver, 44 watch, delivery oct 5-12. Still have my very first watch that Apple made. But, time for the 4 with fall protection. I think watch is a no brainer and must have really sold out fast.

BUT, I must admit to thinking almost $1500 for a phone is really ridiculous and questioning my need for it, even if I have the discretionary funds to do it, but do I really need it. I think I get caught in the Apple excitement or lack there of on this event. I bought the x last year and returned it after about two weeks. I have bought every new phone from the beginning. I was used to the size of my 7 plus which I continued to use as i really like Touch ID. I will see if this excites me for a few weeks and return it for an 8 plus, product red, if it is just a paper weight. I may be over my Apple at any cost, because I can. They have really pushed it this time and as I write this I get more angry....at myself for drinking the Kool aid again. Your thoughts......

It seems like sim free was the best option for the Max at least. I ordered a sg 256gb T-Mobile Xs Max as soon as the store opened and got a 9/28-10/05 delivery window. Sim free is still 9/21 delivery. Last year too though I got a week later delivery date but received it on launch day.

I'm in the same boat as you. My order was processed at 12:06 AM PST for a Silver 256GB T-Mobile version and I got the same delivery date as you. I didn't realize there was a SIM-free option this year, otherwise I would have gotten that one instead. I only noticed that option after my order went through and I got my e-mail confirmation. I contemplated canceling my order and ordering the SIM-free since it still showed Sept. 21 delivery for a while, but decided against it since this happened last year with my iPhone X when I purchased it. Showed delay of a week but then it got bumped up to launch day. Hoping for the same again this year. But now I am getting paranoid that it won't happen. Just need to stay positive.

Anybody know if in-store pickup orders are charged in advance or in-store? I believe I remember paying in-store last year.

If you are not sure, cancel your order. Eliminate the Kool Aid and the Kool Aid Man. Free yourself

Ok tryin to get clarification. I ordered a Verizon 256 max but I paid full price through Apple. I was told it’d be unlocked. I want to use Tmobile first. There shouldn’t be any issues right?

There shouldn't be any issue because it is unlocked if you paid the full price and this year all iPhone in the US is the same model with the same modem chip.
