I had a chat agent tell me that she could update my address, but that it A) wouldn’t show up on the order status page and B) had a “50/50” chance of delaying my order. She could not guarantee it wouldn’t delay the order, so I just told her to not change anything.

I’ll give them a call now and see what I can find out. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll report back after the call!

EDIT: Yep, they were able to update it with no issue. No delay in the order, and the correct address is now showing on the order status page. Seems the phone agents are the only ones able to do that, for those reading this.

Are you on the iPhone upgrade program or just a regular purchase?

Anybody know if in-store pickup orders are charged in advance or in-store? I believe I remember paying in-store last year.
IIRC it gets charged before pickup-if you dont pick It up it gets refeduned. Not sure I remember tho

Perfect I’m glad you got it worked out! I didn’t realize there was a difference between the chat and phone agents but it’s good to know for the future. My address change showed immediately as well!

A little behind the ball this year, but I got my XS Max 256GB silver AT&T order in around noon EST with a September 28 date (iUP; great preapproval experience again this year). And then in a moment of weakness I also put in my Apple Watch 44mm silver aluminum GPS preorder around 1pm with an October 12 date. So stoked, but I wish I had gotten up at 3am and done it all then! Think there's any chance of dates being shifted up? Maybe if more of you guys cancel and re-order... :p

I see a lot of people ordering a max and not getting the max storage. I always order the top of the line maxed out. Why get a max with less than the max?

Because the max with max storage is 1450 before tax. For many people, that extra $200 isn't worth it when they aren't using close to 256 GB on their current phone.

Well I’m on the upgrade program. So the difference in the monthly payment between 256 and 512 isn’t significant.

Two reasons...

1. Cost... another $200 on top of the already obscene price for the 256gb, which is an extra $150 over the obscene price for the 64gb version.
2. Excessive storage. I have a 256gb iPhone 8+ and I am only using about 53gb of that.

Why pay obscene prices for something that I will never need/use? And I don't sell my phones, I hand them down to family members... IMO, 256gb is more than anyone in my family needs...

Sounds like a smart approach

That’s so true. I saw many customers that own the 256GB iPhone but only used less than 64gb.

All Verizon iPhones have come unlocked for years now.
But now they’re locked again.

Edit: because someone is going to say “that’s not true!” https://www.cnet.com/google-amp/news/verizon-will-lock-its-smartphones-to-combat-theft/

Ok tryin to get clarification. I ordered a Verizon 256 max but I paid full price through Apple. I was told it’d be unlocked. I want to use Tmobile first. There shouldn’t be any issues right?

I’m only using half of my 128gb 7+, but I went with the 512gb Xs Max because the cost (AT&T Next) made it worthwhile.

And now I’ll download my entire iTunes library on it.

And I imagine I will be taking WAY more photos and videos with a much better camera.

I pull the trigger last night on a pair items. The iPhone was at 12:02 AM, while the S4 watch was at 12:05 AM.

With both of these order placement times, the delivery date is September 21. The iPhone was already set up and all I had to do was to confirm the order. I couldn't do that ahead of time with the watch, but still completed the order within four minutes.

because ive had 256gb for the last 2 phones, and im still not half way. why would i pay more for storage i won't use? It doesn't make any sense in my case. If I did get 512, i wouldn't surpass 256gb by the time the next iphone came out. and I KNOW im getting the next iphone. so again, doesn't make sense.

lmao you are the one that asked the question? I never challenged that notion, of course everyone has a different take on things. This is mine.

Sounds like you maybe have buyer's remorse.
