So my XS switched back to delivery unknown, with no scans since China on 9/19. The only update is that an hour ago a note posted from 1:20 AM saying it had cleared customs. Fingers crossed...

Same boat - a slow boat from China. Now, the UPS site says:

Scheduled delivery information is not available at this time. Please check back later.

Looking like a next week delivery sometime. Underwhelmed.

Oh no! Sucks girl. I was going to switch to the XS because I wanted a smaller phone this time but at the last minute went for the Max. I’m glad I did it now. I’d say, return for sure and order the Max. Maybe get the silver if the gold is sold out? I think the shiny stainless on the side will look so good too.

Do i reserve the unlocked gold one at BB and pay full price and then bring it to ATT next or do i have to wait for them to reset my eligibility? Thanks for answering.

You might wanna give AT&T a call to be 100% sure but I believe you have to wait until your eligibility reset because you have to sign a new contract.

I had to escalate it. Ironically my local CC called me.
Do you happen to remember the final department you spoke to to get it resolved? I spoke to customer service, tech support, international support, mychoice support *_*. Final thing I was told is that they can't do anything until it is in Arizona and even then all they could do was send a message to the CC.

Consider yourselves lucky if you got a Saturday reschedule. UPS told me I’m out of luck until Monday. And I have to go back to work. So, I’ll have to have it held and drive an hour to go get it.

That’s lame. I went to Mesa CC then called ‭1 (800) 742-5877‬. He originally said it’s not eligible for Saturday and wanted to pass me to international. When I pointed out that it had already cleared customs and wan an iPhone he said he put in an escalation ticket and I’d get a call back within the hour. 30 minutes later I got a call from a local 480 number and they confirmed my address, removed the CC hold and said it would be delivered tomorrow.

Same boat man. Apparently my phone is still in KY. UPS blames customs but they do this every year they should be prepared for any hiccup.
To be 100% fair the "Date Tentative" message was for this exact reason customs is out of UPS control and it ran on schedule up until then.

Seems like 'iPhone" is the magic word

Any one else having trouble with Verizon activation not verifying the zip/pin? been a couple of hours now and no dice for me, Verizon says they can see the new xs max in their system connected to their network, but my zip and pin combination isn't working, even though I am entering it correctly

My iPhone XS Max Gold 64GB is delivered in US Address. I will get my iPhone in next 1 month in India. Until you guys enjoy your iPhones XS & XS Max. Also those who haven't received, don't worry sooner or later you will be having the beast in your hand ;)

It was great being here again for all the pre-order fun and waiting game.

In this thread, see you guys next year for the new iPhone (Hopefully the price doesn't increase :D:p )

The thing that frustrates me is that I just walked into the San Tan Apple Store and they have stock of my phone but because I’m doing the trade in, I can’t do it because of the open order. So now it’s sitting around all day on a Saturday.

Lol wonder what went wrong at customs though? Mine was on that flight and got an Import scan just after 3AM and was out within an hour then some others on the same flight don't have an Import Scan until like 11 this morning

This was the smoothest update process from the time I put my order in to receiving the new phone. Everything worked like a well oiled machine! Apple and UPS finally got their act together! A happy customer. See ya next year when we do it again.

Hm for some reason my news apps and such don’t seem to be sending me notifications on my Max. They’re still just popping up on the old phone and not at all on the new one.

Calling UPS again asking for an "escalation ticket" and they are some of the worst customer service people I've ever dealt with. Clearly reading from a script and aren't even listening to what I'm saying about my situation. They are now telling me they will attempt delivery first at my home tomorrow even though the status online still says request for pickup. Think they are just trying to get me to hang up.
