Funny story about my delivery.
I had an order scheduled for delivery to my office today. I decided to change the delivery to pick up at my local UPS hub. I saw the destination scan at 8:45 this morning but wasn’t sure if I needed to receive an email that it was ready for pickup. I didn’t receive anything by 1pm, so I drove to the warehouse and found that they are only open from 8-10 and 4:30-6:30. Rats. And I had to go out of town at 4 and they are closed tomorrow. Double rats.
I am back at my office around 3:30 and the man in brown walks through the front door with my phone. I sign and thank him, and before I can open it, I receive an email that my package was picked up from a UPS Access Point location.

UPS told me to cancel my order from Apple, it’s stuck in China. Funny enough MyChoice says 9/21 delivery is tentative. lol
My first xs max I ordered at 2:06 CT and I received it this morning. After using it today, I must say it is perfect size compared to my x. Love it.
My other xs max I ordered later that night had a 9/28-10/5 date and is now in Alaska. It has been update to a Tuesday delivery date. Seems like it processed and departed ZZ a lot faster than my first xs max.
Edit: 62 minutes in Alaska. Already received a departure scan! Maybe will get here before Tuesday.

What happened was the hold request went through but they put it on the truck anyway. You got the email saying it was picked up because it was marked and delivered

Why would UPS tell you to cancel it?
I got one today and I am AMAZED at how awesome it is. I have a series 3 and felt guilty about doing the upgrade ... not anymore. The screen is amazing. I got the 44mm
I saw it tonight at Best Buy, wow..yeah it is really nice! I just asked the girl for the heck of it "Do you have any in stock?" She quickly said "yes." I was stunned, so she was helping someone else about the new phones. Then she went back to double check the stock...well, the only version they had was 40mm Rose Gold. They sold out of the others today.
The junk Best Buy website said it wouldn't have stock until NEXT Friday, so I didnt even think to stop in today, if I did this morning maybe I could have landed one.
No big deal, I will get the 4 soon...somewhere
Mine has made no progress and they won’t let me pick it up because it hasn’t had a destination scan. They’ll have to drive past my house to get it to my local hub. Two towns that are two hours apart.
It’s more the app then the watch. When I eat up my new phone it asked if I wanted to set it up. I clicked through the prompts and it brought me to update the software (hadn’t updated to watchOS 5 yet).
The watch app just stays stuck at “checking for updates” and if I click cancel it warns that it will reset my watch to factory settings unless I update.. but it won’t update.
You may have to factory reset and then pair it and update. I don't think the new phone will connect to do the update (assuming it won't connect without the update is what you mean)
They said it got caught and not cleared by customs so no idea when it’ll move. Said if I needed a phone soon to buy a new one.
Never had this experience before with UPS. Stuck in Szechuan, I hope my Xs is enjoying some great noodles.
You can't cancel a shipped order. The only option it will give you is "start a return" you have to have the phone to return the phone. You just gotta wait for customs.

Same here. Should be in Louisville just after midnight. What’s the chances it gets delivered on a Saturday?
I have a Monday delivery date. I even picked my delivery window. My original was 28-5 so I am good with that!

Walnut Street apple had plenty! Grabbed a Lte Aluminum 44mm and a SS SG 44mm.
