A friend of mine in Canada got his iPhone delivered... but instead of an iPhone inside, it was a fake.

Is that possible? He ordered from the official Apple online store.
Didn't sound like if you ordered from Apple.

What do you reccomend for Cases for the IPhone XS Max?
There are quite few of choices on Amazon. I picked few for my wife's Max, all look and feel pretty good. Will give a bit time to see how it goes. Since it only cost about $10, it's not a big deal if replace it down the road.

This morning I spoke to both UPS and Apple again. Another hour on the phone, lol. And no one knows anything.

The phone is in Mississauga Ontario Canada since Friday night, they both say. Well no crap I know that.

They wanted to give me free ear pods (not air pods) or a case LOL. No thanks.

Long story short, if that’s possible at this point, is that a replacement phone is being shipped on the same order number. I should receive an update later today giving me a new delivery date. But the agent said it could likely be 1 to 2 weeks.

All I can do is laugh because this has been so ridiculous.

My phone FINALLY left Canada on Wednesday night after sitting there for SIX DAYS and miraculously after I yelled at both UPS and Apple earlier that day that I wanted my damned shipment. It arrived Thursday morning, 6 days after it was originally promised.

Why would you have to ‘yell’ at Apple, as they have _zero_ control when UPS has the package in transit and in their possession. Apple has no affiliation once UPS has direct control of the package, period. FTR, The *only* thing Apple can do when the package is in transit, is place a ‘stop’, they don’t have any control over its destination course to make if move any faster just because you want it to.

Possible? Yes Likely? Not at all. Sounds like he's making something up. The shipping process is very automated and not many hands come in contact with the phones

May not be the correct thread but I’ve had my XS Max for a week and a half or so now and woke up this morning with a completely dead screen. Tried pressing/holding buttons, tapping, plugging in lightning connector (I use wireless charging at night) and nothing.

The trick, if this ever happens, is to quickly press Volume Up> Volume Down> Hold Power Button for at least 10 seconds until the screen lights up. Apparently it’s a glitch with the software. Just wanted to give you folks a heads up just in case because I know a lot of people watch this thread and I was scared I had a $2k brick

This happens sometimes. Its rare but the SpringBoard will crash so bad your phone is unresponsive. What you did was a hard restart and 99% of the time the phone recovers. If you go to the Privacy section in settings, you can find the diagnostic reports and see what happened if you are curious.

It’s very possible. Apple does jokes like this all the time. I remember when I got a chicken in my iPad box.

You could take it back to the Apple Store also. Have them replace it instead of that hard reset.

For everyone who ordered directly from apple.com in the last week where did you phone ship from ? I am trying to figure out if a bad batch of phones was flushed out of the system yet

Mt Juliet ?
Correct, since the demand has been met and plenty of stock, they will start shipping them from the warehouses. I ordered another iPhone Max today and already got shipping label and it's coming from Mt. Juliet overnight shipping and will be getting it tomorrow.

When you order from Apple and select a carrier on the website (say T-Mobile, for example), does it come with a physical SIM in the box? So I will not need to put the SIM from my old phone/get a new one from T-Mobile?

I ordered my Xs Max from the Apple Store on my iPhone to "replace this phone", which was on AT&T. They included an AT&T SIM card, but it would not activate. Instead of calling AT&T, I moved the SIM from my iPhone X to my Xs Max and it activated.

I put the SIM that came with the Xs Max back in the box for safekeeping. Then I moved the SIM from my 7+ into my X which I kept, and shipped my wired 7+ to my brother. He got a 256GB Jet Black SIM free iPhone 7+ with ZAGG protectors front and back, a battery case, and 2 months of AppeCare+ remaining for free, and he's on my family plan because he's poor.

But how come am hearing the Xs battery doesnt last ...... http://movies.naijabams.com.ng
How long the battery can last, is a very subjective topic, without a baseline of how the phone being used could lead to wide range of misleading results. For me, I used my phone for email, online charting, surfing web from time to time. With average 30% of screen time for a typical day (my day starts at 6am and ending around midnight), my xs always last for all day with 20% to 30% left by the end. So, if I had to rate the battery performance, it is perfect IMHO.

How do you get the % of screen time ? I only see hours & minutes .

When you're in settings > battery, just below the "screen on/screen off" times you'll see in blue letters "show battery usage" and if you on tap that it changes to show percent of battery used by that app instead of the time used.

The blue text then changes to say "show activity" if you want to go back to hours and minutes.

Did anyone order an iPhone xs directly from apple in the last week? I’m wondering if the phones are shipping from China or from within the US?

They are now shipping directly within the U.S. Since the warefhouse has stock pile of them.

Edit: Plus on apple.com when you look at it, it says Order by 5 Pm for next day delivery. So obviously, they are being shipped within U.S.

I thought I would come in special for the XR pre-order... Where's all the hustle and tussle?

I got my XS, so not ordering at midnight, but wow, crickets.
