If you are registered with the UPS app, then the package will show up automagically in the app. You don't need to enter the tracking number. I guess it checks your name and address or something. The app also allows you to change the shipping destination to a local UPS partner too if desired.

In the past you could also use the order number in some situations as a kind of reference number, but I can't remember if that was UPS or FedEx. I did try my order number on the UPS website, but I couldn't find the package that way. However, the UPS app had my package listed (even though Apple still also says it's Preparing to Ship).

If you go to the UPS website and select track by reference number. Select Package and put in your billing phone number without any dashes. You should be able to pull your tracking number. That is assuming your iPhone has initiated the shipping process (which is long before apple will tell you it has).

No, that's normal. The first departure scan and arrival scan is just from the factory to the airport, you'll get another departure scan.

My status via Apple has not updated from Preparing for Shipment but the UPS app shows a departure scan 10/24 at 5:24am.

From my understanding when reading this thread during the shipping of the XS and XS Max Apple won't update the shipping until it scans at Lexington, KY which I believe is UPS' main hub.

On another note my XR Blue baby departed ZhengZhou, China at 5:12am as well. I just checked my tracking and it has already entered the United States! :) My blue baby arrived in Anchorage, AK at 10:15pm on 10/23 and departed at 12:10am 10/24. So from my understanding next stop should be Lexington, KY! :D

I was worried about mine too. I kept checking and it was stuck on "preparing to ship". I see today that it arrived in Alaska and then departed shortly after midnight this morning. Just 2 days to go!:)

I think it’s interesting that american orders ship from asia while european orders ship from warehouses inside europe. I expect my order to start moving from probably the netherlands to sweden tomorrow. I don’t know how long before they stock up their warehouses. Maybe stock is moving there from asia right now, but I won’t be able to track until it leaves the EU warehouse.

Well I must say this tracking is not nearly as stressful as it was for my XS. My XS didn't depart from AK until the day before launch and still had to make 4 more stops and it managed to get delivered at 3:20pm the next day.

My XR is with the others who departed AK at 12:10am.

Based on that time it looks like our phones flew on Kalitta Air #859 which departed anchorage at 12:10am and arrived in Louisville about 40 minutes ago. So we should see arrival scans in Louisville sometime this morning.

It's probably purely coincidental, but I feel like my status via Apple gets hung up with nearly every preorder I have done. Luckily this one showed up on the UPS app which is way more update to date. I think the last phone I pre-ordered never moved from Preparing to Ship.

Ordered my XR at 3:05 AM the day you could pre-order it, and yet, it still hasn't shipped, according to the Apple Store app. No idea how it could possibly get from ZZ to Ohio in basically 31 hours. I even chatted with Apple today, and they said it is scheduled to be delivered on Friday, but I just don't see how.

Don’t worry. I’ve had this happen most likely it’s already left and you won’t see a update unit it hits the US.

Most if not all pre-orders should move to shipped tomorrow.

The easiest way to determine if yours has shipped is to use the My UPS or use the UPS website and use your billing phone number as the reference.

Yours likely has shipped have you tried to track it through UPS using your billing phone number as a reference number?

I just tried that, but keep getting "enter a valid date range", and can't seem to put anything in that the website likes.

Thanks for the heads up. Apple.com shows 'Processing' but when I enter my phone number, it shows my phone in Alaska.

Enter your phone number including area code. Only digits

Similar story here. Apple is not updating their order page. Mine says preparing to ship, but it left Anchorage earlier today. Also have a return kit coming to me for a trade in and that says it will ship shortly, but FedEx has it in route to me for delivery tomorrow.

As of 3:43am my tracking still shows Anchorage, AK Departure Scan as the latest scan but I have received from Apple the email that my phone has been shipped. o_O
