I would have preferred in store pickup but the closest Apple store is 2 hours away from me. :( The only time I'm going to drive to the Apple Store is if I decide to swap my XR for the XS Max.

Is anyone going to pre-sign for their XR? I thought about it to make sure I don’t miss UPS knocking at the door, but also don’t want someone grabbing it off the front porch.

Am I able to take my old phone into an Apple Store to trade it in instead of waiting for the trade in kit? My loan payment is tomorrow so I’d like to return it before then to avoid the extra payment

Not sure about the upgrade program specifics, but you can definitely trade-in the phone at the store. I did it with with my XS. (Traded in a X for credit on the XS) They evaluated it, quoted a dollar amount, and took it from me on the spot.

I went ahead and contacted Apple Support just to be sure and they said that because it wasn't ordered to a store, I'd have to wait for the return kit. The good news is that the current loan for my old phone would be put on hold (which I suspected but wasn't 100% sure) and would then be closed out once the phone was returned in good working order.

Your old loan payments get paused from the date of your order and for up to 14 days afterwards.

As of 3:43am my tracking still shows Anchorage, AK Departure Scan as the latest scan but I have received from Apple the email that my phone has been shipped. o_O

It's not rare for scans to get missed. Wouldn't worry.

My XS actually got delayed a bit for some reason in shipping but I still managed to get it on launch day. It went between 4 cities in under 18 hours.

This is actually not a missed scan, it happens this way every year: departure scan in Anchorage and then a period of no updates while the phones sit and wait for customs clearance at the UPS hub.

I'm picking up my XR tomorrow too. (I'm kind of sad that I don't get the excitement of tracking it!)

But my card was billed a few days ago, and as Appleloves22 noted, the cancel button is gone. Sadly, I have to wait until after work to head that way, but sometime around 3 p.m. tomorrow, the red XR will be in my eager little hands! (I know that it's not up to an XS or a Max, but coming from an iphone 7+, I'm sure I'll see some differences, if only the Face ID and missing home button.

My XS didn't have a delay based on tracking the plane, it registered the Louisville scan maybe a hour after the plane actually landed.

My Xr is stuck with a departure scan from Anchorage of 12:10AM which matches perfectly with a UPS chartered cargo flight that landed in Louisville around 10:00am yesterday. It shouldn't take over 24 hours to clear customs.

It can take A LOT longer than 24 hours to clear customs when importing electronics into the US. Obviously, Apple and UPS do work with CBP to make the movement of massive shipments during the short launch day delivery window, but it's definitely not unusual to have delays.

I got the email saying my phone is ready for pick up.

Mine left Anchorage yesterday, arrived in Louisville KY, and moved to Billings MT today. Should be heading out to Denver tonight.

There’s no signature required warning on my UPS tracking. Do we have to sign? I don’t remember.

Picking up my XR in the morning, just curious but will Apple sell a screen protector too? I hate putting those things on.

Hi everyone, got the package the moment I walked into work this morning. I pre-ordered on 19/10 from the Malaysian Apple Store.

White iPhone XR, 128GB.

Birthday present for the wife, so no unboxing till later today.

Gonna pop by the store today to see if there are any cases available. *fingers crossed*

Just got mine set up, Apple put on a screen protector too. No Apple leather case in stock but I got a nice Belkin one clear back and bottom back/side is black, very nice looking. 256GB Product Red. I upgraded from a 6S regular size and trust me this phone is huge compared to that.
