Apple should have killed off the SE and replaced it with the 13 mini at a $449 to $499 price point.
That wouldn’t happen because of material cost of the hardware. The SE is likely much cheaper to build giving them some return on a $429 product. The 13 Mini used more premium materials, a larger screen, and Face ID vs the old touch sensor. At $20-70 more than an SE the profit margin is likely too slim to sell this product. Apple exists to increase value for the shareholders. Shareholders don’t like products with low to no profit margins. Like it or not, that’s how it works in the business world.

Will be missed. I'll hang on to my 12 mini but battery health is now at 72%...
Looking at some dealers' websites here in Sweden I see that the 13 mini is now out of stock with expected delivery on Sep 30 2023, I guess that's not gonna happen. I'll visit the Apple Store this afternoon and see if they are still allowed to still sell them.

Try Amazon, it’s available on the French Amazon. I got mine from Amazon and it’s perfect. Just make sure it’s the Amazon who is the seller and not someone else.

What a big disappointment. It's absurd they are selling the SE 3 but not the Mini!

My 13 mini should last for 1 or 2 more years, but then what?

The sales of the Plus size models are also low, it has been a failure.

Still don't understand how people use such large phones, I am sure they will love it if Apple released a phone as big as the iPad mini.

Because larger screens are more immersive and majority of people lack any sense of self control. They HAVE to doomscroll the entire day away; until their phone screens are practically burned on their retinas.

Asus Zenfone 10 (5.9") is only slightly larger than Mini, in the same ballpark with iPhone X or 11 pro. Not that I'm buying it as the 13 mini works like a charm, but I'm sure similar Androids will be available in the coming years as well.
The Zenfone is bigger than the 11 Pro and basically the same size as the 15. Not slightly larger at all unfortunately.

I hope they still have some in stores tomorrow night, I haven’t been able to make it yesterday or today.

Where would they ship back? to China?

They could be shipped to the Elk Grove, CA warehouse but unless a large retailer (one or more of the carriers, Best Buy, etc.) wants them, I imagine they will remain in stores and continue to be sold to walk-in customers until inventory is gone.

It is, but the Zenphone was designed from the ground up to be used one handed (hence its narrower design) and also its action button on the side. Its specs are incredible though, 4300 mh battery, excellent cameras and 144 mh screen, but yes its obviously not as compact or light as the 13 mini.

Just wait. They'll most likely discontinue those as well once the iPhone 15 lineups are officially released.
The iPhone 15 lineups have already been released and they mentioned they are still selling the normal 13. It will discontinue when the iPhone 16 releases or if they release the SE 4 as big as the normal iPhone.

Picked up a Green 128GB Mini on Thursday, trading in my iPhone 12 Mini to knock $200 off the price.

I figured by the time I replaced the battery and screen on my 12 Mini, I would have been over $300 in the hole anyway, may as well drop another hundo and get better hardware in the process.

I talked myself into getting a 256GB model on the way to the store, but all they had left were pink models in that capacity, and I probably could have gone for that since it was gonna be in a case most of the time anyway, but I wanted blue or green.

I considered going whole hog on a 512GB model, and maybe I should have, but that sucker would have been $800 even after trade-in, yeesh.

The next closest Apple Store is unfortunately about a three hour round trip, so while I considered calling them up to check their inventory, I likely wouldn’t have the time to make such a trip before it dried up anyway.

I guess worst case scenario I’ll pick up a 256GB model from Apple’s refurbished store someday should I decide 128GB isn’t enough, but by the time that happens I might be ready to just settle for a bigger phone anyway.
