at the end of the day it's thinner, screen is better and it's faster. and the pencil draws better and the case cases better.

In for an 11" 512K Pro, Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard. Traded in my 2020 M1 Air.

I think this is the sweet spot for me.. currently have a mini.

If I need larger, I have a 15" M3 Air and a 13" M3 Pro to choose from

The 11" Pro will be a better travel device, the Mini is just too small for my needs. Now time to sell off the Mini w/Pencil

Was a Keynote necessary just to release a new iPad?
With all the generated visuals and (bad) audio, boring scripts and details, plus the profit from the prices that many consumers will happily pay they could afford doing a remote=fake event every day. Don'y get me wrong, I like some of Apple's products but they are too repetitive - not enough options for me. I might upgrade one of my iPad Pros at home but I really need a smaller device (i.e. the mini) that I can carry everywhere.

I note iPad 10th gen. continues to keep the 20w USB-C power brick but it's no longer included with iPad Pro & iPad Air.

Given that they've moved over to eSIM only for the Air & Pro in the UK I guess it's "almost" a given iPhone might follow suit come September for the new launches?

given all that, the only thing that i found exciting was the nano texture but i am not paying 2k for an iPad.

Just the new models:

  • Maybe I missed it, but is the Apple Pencil Pro compatible with older iPad models?

If not, are they going to sell that one and the second generation both for $129?? Or will there be a price drop?

The entire iPad lineup is still a mess.

    iPad Models

    • iPad Pro 13-inch (M4)
    • iPad Pro 11-inch (M4)
    • iPad Air 13-inch (M2)
    • iPad Air 11-inch (M2)

Had a confirmed May 15 deliver. Entered wrong Apple ID during checkout so had to start over. In a blink, delivery is now Jun 7-14. So seems this is a popular one that is selling very fast! oh well, the pencil and keyboard will be here the 15th, then I have to wait 3 more weeks for the fully spec'd out 13" pro to arrive. Looking forward to improvements over the M1 and see what I just got myself into!

10/10/16gb with 1TB+
Otherwise binned 9/10/8gb

And no 16gb option on the Air

The price on the air is too high. I can get an iPad Pro with 256 gb of memory and literally more for a few hundred more. It just doesn’t make sense to price the Air 128 at $599. The 256 is $699 so for another $300 I get way more bang for my buck. If the 256 was $599 that would make more sense.

My guess is you’ll be able to get one in a store on May 15 (or soon thereafter).

My original iPad Pro gave top the ghost a few weeks ago, refusing to boot up and just going into a startup loop. Not bad timing really, just bought a space black Pro 13" 256GB plus matching Magic Keyboard (pick up next Weds) – for all that work I'm probably not going to do…

Lackluster refresh.
And what’s up with these “professional scenario”, what percentage of iPad of users are actually doing these professional work…
What percentage of these professionals are actually using iPads?

Just boring, was expecting more, now I have no interest in ever getting one…
These events are getting worse.

YOU CAN’T KEEP SAYING “THIS IS THE BIGGEST UPDATE FOR IPAD EVER” when it’s just an incremental evolution. All credibility is lost. Have it run macOS and you can say such things. What’s the problem with just saying ‘we have made a nice little update to our iPads to make them a bit better’…? That’s what this is. Marketing only goes so far. We’re not stupid.

It's just part of the script at this point. LOL
