M4 in iPads before putting it in a single Mac product? Well I'll be damned.

I specifically said this wouldn't happen and it was even stupid to do this.
I still think it's stupid, but it happened.

For all the hype, the 13-inch Pro is 6.2% lighter than the 13-inch Air. Can't say that makes much difference to my decision.

Does anybody know the weights of the new keyboards?

OLED screen and the new M4 is exciting, but why do I have to buy a new ipad when my M1 ipad is still plenty fast??
m1 is still over kill and oled isnt needed mini led is great, even Sony crapped oled for mini led for flagship tv

They are trying to get more sales for the iPad, with these pricing, a lot of people will opt for the MacBook Air if they were to update the Mac line up with M4 the same time.

Maybe I missed it, but is the Apple Pencil Pro compatible with older iPad models?

If not, are they going to sell that one and the second generation both for $129?? Or will there be a price drop?

The entire iPad lineup is still a mess.
No. Only with the new Air and Pro.

The iPad lineup makes more sense now. The 9th gen is gone. The 10th is now $349. The Air is the sweet spot starting at $599. The Pro is overkill for most but sports some unique features. The pencil situation for currently sold devices make sense. Apple Pencil USB-C compatible with all current iPads. Pencil Pro for the new Air and Pro.

If memory serves me, Apple did actually put new processors in the iPad before the iPhone before. So this isn’t a first for the range getting chips before any other product.

But this is a huge upgrade I have to say.

I'm sure Tim Apple looks at sales metrics based on date and times to make new product announcements. Graduation present maybe? Who knows....
