The iPad has the M4 not because of the CPU/GPU upgrades but because of the NPU upgrade (16 vs 8 cores). They want to be ready for local LLM when it's announced next month so that they can say that the new M4 Pros can do even more. It's a form of futureproofing

I feel for the hearing impaired, but having the sign language person almost as large as the video was very, very distracting and hard to watch. Make it smaller or make it an option with CC.

Saving money for the new iPhone, as I skipped last year.
Opted for the 13, but 256. Need a case and not seeing any yet out there in the wild.
I wanted the 256gb too but I will be using this for a long time coming from a 2018 Ipad pro and the 256 only has 8GB of ram that's why I opted for the 1TB version.

M4 has more NPU TOPS then M2 Ultra. 38 TOPS vs 31.6.

Nice! I have a 2018 too that has been losing it in terms of the touch screen and power button not working all that well because of a drop.
Considering the novelties in iPad Pro, I think Apple see iPad Pro a cutting edge device that is not at all trailing behind the Mac but lives its own life. Apple apparently sees things differently than lots of MR members. Now WWDC next for more AI stuff.

Faster is ott always better. I personally need innovative features (Vision Pro although expensive has that wow factor). I am going to wait and demo the iPad Pro and iPad Air in the store. I desire to see if I get that wow feeling that I did when I was complaining that the original iPad being nothing more than a larger iPhone before ever even seeing it for the first time. Apple wowed me back then. I hope to be wowed again.
Specs on paper don't mean as much as iPadOS being able to take advantage of that powerful hardware.
It remains to be seen how well it does so.

Exactly. the iPad Pro is 100% a tablet that is not fully designed to replace the Mac, but can perform pro tasks on the go. It's powerful enough to blow through 8K/4K video editing workflows and 3D design.

The iPP is not built for K-12. It is built for mature competent adults, most of whom will not even watch the inevitable clickbait "Does it bend?" videos.
