Who cares? I buy things I like because I like them. My response to people telling me iPhones suck IRL is that I'm glad they're happy with Android and that's why we have choices. People's incessant need to validate their purchases by bashing someone else's is beyond me.

You are right, the iPhone 6s has all that: better colour accuracy in pics and screen, better ecosystem, better single core performance .... So why is the iPhone X so much more expensive than the iPhone 6s? The only new things in the iPhone X are stuff that android phones had years ago (OLED screen, bezel less design, induction charging, fast charging out of the box) and didn't cost extra.

How do you defend the price increase?

The iPhone 8 has iOS on it too, so why is the iPhone X so much more expensive?

This is what I thought originally as well until I looked some more at what they’ve done in the X. They shrunk down a Kinect to fit in the status bar of a phone and are touted as being 2-3 years ahead of the competition. They also were able to get rid of the chin, which even Samsung still has. People argue it is not ‘bezelless’. That argument is only because Samsung has the curved sides, which hurts functionality and the notch. Really, the phone is edge to edge everywhere except the notch. Is it worth 300 more, idk.

I honestly feel like android users talk about iPhone more than actual iPhone users sometimes

Plus 100! I have never understood the obsession Android users have regarding Apple products especially the iPhone. If you guys think your Galaxy Note 8 is the best thing ever then why the hell do you care so much about the iPhone that you have to compare each and every feature? It's like a guy with a Ferrari (or thinks he has one) obsessing over his neighbor's Ford. And this weird behaviour is not just limited to the Internet, I used to work in IT and any company I would work for, there would be this Android club and the moment they would see my iPhone it was like a trigger effect and start comparing specs. " Oh can your iPhone do this? Does your iPhone have this feature?" Umm excuse me I just joined today can we at least get introduced first before we start slagging off the iPhone?

BTW while waiting for the new iPhone X, I decided to also purchase the Google Pixel 2 and so went on the Android forums and again it's the same crazy iPhone obsession. It's like the Android fans love to convince each other and ultimately convince themselves that they made the right decision by getting an Android phone. In all these years being on Macrumors forum, I have noticed this place has become extremely toxic with the most rabid Android fans coming in here and trolling. So much so that even a Macrumor staff member is often seen slagging off the iPhone, maybe we need a proper moderator and not some Android fan pretending to be mod come here and clean the place up a bit.

I love and own apple but this hurts. I don't see how iPhone can be defended with this comparison.

That's like saying to me 'an eight year old kid called you an idiot, what do you want me to say back'. Who gives a danm.

An eight year old kid says 'my phone has more RAM than you, so your phone sucks', Do you A. not give a damn, or B. explain to them the ability of an operating system to utilise RAM to do stuff is what matters?

An eight year old says 'my phone has more megapixels' do you A. not give a damn or B try and explain how the new Nikon 7200 DX camera has 24mp, but their flagship DX camera the D500 has 21mp? No because idiots and eight year olds would not comprehend.

etc.

My honest answer is Face ID, assuming it delivers. I just don’t know that Face ID is worth that $300 premium.

I guess the oddest thing about this whole scenario is that you basically have the “edgeless” device that Samsung did two years ago and very few peoooe are crying “copycat”. Meanwhile anything Samsung does is ridiculed as Apple being first.

I personally think Samsung makes some wonderful hardware. I just can’t get behind the software.

Me personally, I don't care who was first in trivial things. I just don't like Apple trying to stop competition by using the court systems to sue for frivolous issues like slide to unlock, universal search, rounded corners.

IOS is just smoother. Not only that, but I like having the option to go to the Apple store for my phone to be fixed if need be. You don’t get that option at all with Samsung

iOS on iPhone 8 is just as smooth most likely. So how do you justify or defend the price of the iPhone X?

This is like comparing a Ferrari 488 GTB to a Ford F150 and saying Ford is better because it has more cupholders. o_O

No it also has a bezel going all the way round the entire phone.

Ah, I see. Now we’re going to debate how much bezel qualifies as bezel. o_O

Again, screen to body ratio is comparable to galaxy phones, it just doesn’t have a useless rounded edge.

Well yes the screen to body ratios are more or less the same so I think it comes down to personal preference of which design you like better. There is no point in declaring one bezeless and not the other when they have almost the same screen to body ratios.

There’s nothing to defend or justify in my eyes. I want it and I’m buying it lol

Yet the 835 is better then the A10?

Interestingly enough, processor power no longer matters when the software is optimized well. Google's new Android Oreo is optimized better than iOS 11 and far more smoother. Even the Samsung Experience UX on nougat is far more optimized than iOS 11, and those Samsung devices will soon have Oreo soon too. Android Oreo will lead in overall OS speed and it even looks better than Fisher Price iOS 11.

Source?

That article has zero benchmarks comparing the speed versus iOS, in fact iOS is mentioned just once in the entire article as far as I can tell, where it says that over time Android is becoming more and more like iOS.

Here's an article with benchmarks, testing exactly what you said, iOS 11 versus the Samsung Experience version of Nougat:

Actually I would say overtime iOS is becoming more and more like android but thats the authors opinion. When that pixel 2 phone is released, plenty of benchmarks will be ready. Although its not benchmarks that are important, its true real world performance.

I don’t know what’s worse. The person that took the time to create this image or the person “hurt” by it.

Who views BGR...they are bogus......just clickbait and you gave them one of your clicks. VOIDED

When you go out in real life you realize people don’t give a crap what phone you use. Geeks fight over this nonsense and what features came first.

Not a troll just wanted to hear what other apple users had to say about this. I don't know what to say about it. I have a 8 plus 256gb on the way.

Folks need to just pick the platform that makes them happy. Specs probably don't matter as much as what you, the user, enjoy. I like BOTH iOS and Android, for different purposes. Android (Note 8) for work, iOS (iPad Pro) for home relaxation. Both great devices, and IMHO, both very good platforms, each with their good and bad points.

The iphone 8 has a much quicker CPU, much quicker GPU, better camera, inductive charging and more RAM/flash.

Seriously, comparing the 6s CPU/GPU to even the iphone 7 it gets trounced pretty hard.
