I see these type of "luxury brand" can do no wrong mentality or take-it-or-leave it arguments on high-end product forums. The more money people spend on a product the less they want to hear of any negatives.

you can reserve a shopping session in New York. Up to 15 min. As I stated multiple times, they allowed me in when I stated the purpose of my visit. If they said I had to have a reservation I would've come back later. You don't let people in then kick them out afte they state their business.
You’ve also stated multiple times that you can’t handle the iPhones once inside the Apple store due to their restrictions during the global pandemic. I suggested you go somewhere that doesn’t have these measures, decide which phone you want and then purchase it at Apple if that is the desired choice. This purchase could be frustration-free with a bit of planning. I prefer not going into any shops at the moment so online purchasing is the only method I’m interested in.

I think that the policy of every Apple store is clearly stated on Apple's website, and since it is different from state to state depending upon local circumstances and guidelines, some stores are probably scheduling shopping sessions, and others are not.

I've made several trips to the closest Apple Store over the past month or so, and they have been terrifically polite and helpful. Once for a genius bar appointment and to have my iPhone diagnosed, second visit to bring the phone back for repairs after parts were received (this second visit included a reservation for shopping session so my wife and I could look at new stuff), third visit to pick up a new iPad and drop off my trade-in.

One thing about this current arrangement is that you have someone dedicated to helping you while you are at the Apple Store, whereas back in pre-pandemic times you could browse without an Apple specialist, but then getting one to answer questions might take some time depending on how busy the store happened to be at the time.

And it turns out that since the situation in our part of the world has deteriorated since my latest visit to them, my closest Apple Store is not currently supporting shopping sessions, only Genius Bar support by appointment, and picking up online orders:

The criticism of the fine British marque Lotus is enough for my thread retirement lol, all the best.
People have different opinions and experience. If that is not allowed on this "forum" on apple or any other brand then why bother having a forum.

It is don’t worry. We all enjoy Apple products and all criticise them too when needed. I just don’t know what I am getting out of this thread anymore other than repeating the same point is slightly varying ways? I haven’t got anything more to add, all the best sorting your issues out.

People keep posting same rebuttal in blind defense of the great leader apple. I don't have an issue since I decided to invest my money elsewhere.

I don’t think they are, I think you have an idea of what you want to hear but aren’t getting that feedback here, so everybody else must be biased.

However, you’ve sorted your problem by using another manufacturer anyway. Let’s not waste anymore time on this .

Hi, not wasting time when you discover that many apple users are perfectly fine with substandard treatment. as i said, i followed all instructions given to me. you can reserve a shopping session in New York. all I can say to you is in the last 2 visits I have had to a store, both have been full on in terms of cleaning down everything I touch.
However the service has been impeccable and of the highest standard.

We all have stories of poor service somewhere.
Recently I have had to deal with HP, Microsoft and Samsung.
HP and Microsoft were absoultely terrible in comparison to Apple. HP is still ongoing.
Samsung were good in the end, but hard to communicate with.

So for all your complaining on this site, for me, Apple far exceed the service of other major tech brands in my experience, the majority of the time. You just seem to have had a bad day.

I haven’t experienced poor service from Apple in quite a while so we can only comment from our own experiences. What was the response to your actual official complaint to Apple? You’ve never revealed this. Could it be the people who served you were at fault rather than the company itself through its policy? I’m not here to defend Apple, I have no interest in that as they are just another manufacturer as far as I am concerned. If we get poor service, we complain. What did they say?

Isn't an appointment the intention to buy and ask questions, not browse? Apple probably thought you wanted photos to upload... If your in store already there'd be no real reason to take photos, unless you were a reviewer or something.

I don't believe it was due to COVID issue.. because If it was, they wouldn't have let you in the store anyway, if there was a concern.

I reckon it was more over suspicion.
