Happened to me, and very abruptly. Fortunately I was home and not in the middle of anything important as I lost an hour of time right away. More now as I have to go back and create ALL of my App-specific passwords.

Unsettling st the time, annoying now.

Password locked out. Then didn’t have a powerful enough password and I’m thinking in the back of my head well I’ve got two factor… does it really have to be a super long complicated password. Got to the point that I used swear words…

At least that will be memorable. I’ve been there. 😅

Happened to me as well…

As someone who works in cyber security, a wide spread password reset like this is a common thing when an organization is compromised. Apple needs to clarify what happened here.

Edit - also a @Mac/@me address.

Happened to me as well. I have a @me.com Apple ID. I think it started yesterday with Postbox frequently asking me to retype the password of my iCloud mailbox. Ignored it for a while betting on a service disruption on Apple side. It continued today and became annoying. Went to icloud.com and found out that my account was locked. Unlocking it also meant choosing a new password and setting up a new app password for Postbox.

According to Apple everything is fine...

Same here. Now Mac Studio crashing with just sudden black screen and no input being accepted. Maybe cause Fantastical upset? after 3 times, finally got all apps closed and stopped happening. on appleid.apple.com it gives me error trying to sign in w NEW Apple ID password (password incorrect) when trying to reset my app-specific passwords...sigh.

My Apple ID is one of the old MobileMe ("@me.com") addresses. Wondering if it is something to do with this as my partner and other family members had no issue, but had iCloud accounts created much later on.

Can anyone else confirm if their affected Apple ID is a @me.com address?
I don't use a @me.com address and it's happening to me.

Same issue here. Im in a family of 4 and I was the only one affected. So random, and a pain since I have a lot of devices I had to re-sign in.

Happened to me to around 8pm central time. I had to reset my password and relog into all my apple devices. Thought it was brute force attack. Guess it was Apple messing around again.

Had this happen to me, though not recently - it was a couple of months back and started happening whenever I tried to log in to Apple services on a Windows device. Likely a completely unrelated problem, but I wanted to give a word of advice for anyone who’s run into it - you’re going to need to go into your iTunes payment settings and refresh them as they have also now been reset and it’s not obvious until you go to try to buy something.

mac/me account.

Happened to me last night. Now none of my Home Hubs are responding. I hope I don't have to reset everything. None of my HomeKit Apps are working.

Apple screwed the pooch on this one!!

This happened to me. I was pretty concerned.

Apple needs to get it together. I’ve had Apple ID issues for months now. Of course they can’t explain why.

Same here. Happened out of the blue for my @me.com Apple ID. Had to try to reset it several times.
First time ever something like this happened to my Apple ID.
And yes - truckloads of one-time passwords to reset, too.

Happened to me as well. Got logged out from all of my devices, and trying to reauthenticate gives out server errors. Cannot relogin from any device or the web. I went through couple levels of apple support, but no help from there.

Also tried disabling the stolen device protection, that did not help with the issue.

EDIT: My apple id is also a mac.com account. I'm the head of the family. Other family members were not booted out.
Same here - .mac account, but my wife did get a email notification that I changed my password -😟

They wont talk about it. They never do. Not until they get sued, they love hiding and pretending nothings wrong
