That's my opinion as well -- I've had multiple free trials of it (on one right now in fact!) and I simply don't use it, even when it's free.

I just don't think Apple Music is that good relative to the competition.
I despise subscription music services. I'm not renting a damn thing only for it to vanish if I miss a payment. I own my music. I don't rent it.

Apple Music at $11 a month is about buying one CD a month. Better value on buying a CD. :)
Compared to what I used to spend on CDs and with the amount & range I listen to, I still feel as though I’m driving the getaway car.

And now I still buy CDs & downloads of ‘most favoured’ artists, including multi-disc box sets. My music habit still costs me a fortune, just a little less per month than what I used to spend.

Most importantly you actually have content that can't be "taken away from you"

Wow, glad I have my life vest. The River of Tears is deep in this thread.

I said the price increase was inevitable. My issue is the years of ignoring people who are wishing to improve the user experience. Spatial Audio was the first big improvement to the service since the launch, but it's not even avaliable to everyone. Having some better organization to the service could be, and it would make the price increase more worth it in the long run.

Sorry, but Spatial Audio is gimmicky trash, honestly. It doesn't do anything to actually improve the listening experience.

The addition of an expansive Lossless catalog is the real improvement.

For music, I just can't get on with Spatial Audio

Particularly on older tracks that I know very well (even if they've been remastered for SA), it simply changes how they feel and the energy and emotion of the music ... and, for me at least, it's not desirable at all.

For new content that is made specifically to be a Spatial Audio experience it's one thing...but most all music is meticulously crafted and mixed to be a great stereo experience and that's how I am going to continue enjoying it.

All of this is a different discussion with video content

I’ve had free trials too over the years to Music and Apple TV. I’ve never kept either beyond the trial period as I think there are alternatives that offer what I want and for better value. I’ve always felt Apple’s streaming services are a few pounds more expensive than deserved and now the price has gone up again, they are simply uncompetitive at this point. No skin off my nose though as I haven’t lost anything.

What HASN'T gone up in these inflationary times?

iPhone 14 prices, at least in the U.S. Despite high inflation and various improvements, the starting price of the iPhone 14 is the same as the 13 was which was the same as the 12. The starting prices of Pro and Pro Max models are the same going back to when they were first introduced in 2019.

That’s some bs.
Hopefully they use the extra revenue to do something about tragic Siri.
The only thing they can do with Siri is let us have default Google Assistant.

Music, whatever. I don't subscribe to Apple Music, but do to Spotify and YouTube Music, and I feel like I get my money's worth and then some. I'm a huge consumer of music. "Buying" my music would be financial ruin and not something I have any interest in, so the inevitable follow-the-leader price increases are not something I'm too worried about. There's value there in it for me.

But the very idea of paying $7 a month for AppleTV+, I just can't even. That's a riot. I've managed to string together well over a year of free ATV+ offers through Target, TMobile, and others. "Free" is about what I'd value it at, too.

This. All day long.

The weird thing is the competitive pricing with the bundling was what actually made some of these services appealing over the superior competing services.

Very odd move, then again Tim has to please Wall Street.

They must be hurting for cash. Only explanation for why they would choose to squeeze some dollars out of the people who actually are.
