I hear it just disappears, I don't think people know what the word obsolete means
Well, I was thinking of updating my iPhone this fall anyway and this just give me a bit more incentive to do so.
Well it doesn’t take screenshots of my passwords and porn collection, and store it as raw images for anyone with admin rights
Considering M1 and M2 are based on earlier A-series SoCs and I believe uses the same Neural Engines, I have a feeling that even though she mentioned only A17 this will work on A15 and A16 unless it requires at least 8GB of RAM (which would be A17 Pro only).

It’s not selling out. It’s just ChatGPT letting Apple use their technology on their OS. It has zilch to do with any technical or innovative work on Apple’s end. My issue is that they’re lying by omission and pretending they did the inventing.
The name “Apple Intelligence” is so insufferable and blatantly misleading.
The integration of AI in various OS makes it increasingly complicated for the average consumer to know what and when AI is operating.
Almost everyone (companies) is jumping in with both feet, for FOMO.
As far as I know they’re the only ones doing it mostly on device without sharing your personal data to subsidize the cost for “free” or for advertising purposes. Once again, with Apple you’re NOT the product.
They deserve a lot of credit for that.
Millions of users will update their devices for this
A real shame for iPhone 14 Pro/14 Pro Max users.
I believe the RAM is the big factor here.
I was thinking that re all of my own HomePods. I'm going to take a wild, blue-sky thinking guess and predict that all new HomePods will be required before any improvement is evident!!

We better experience a new Siri in person before we proclaim it. Marketing demo is one thing. Reality is typically something else.

It is also getting increasing difficult to know what anyone is doing themselves or with help of AI. Messages, email, images.
There are positives and negatives but we are entering a very blurry time.

I am excited for a no-longer-dumb Siri. I hope this extends to HomePods as well.
Fabrication is the hard part and more important to chip performance.
It is NOT their technology or invention. They had zilch to do with its development. Call it MacOS with ChatGPT or something. Calling it Apple Intelligence is misleading.
Must be, the neural engine in the A16 is marginally more powerful than the one in the M1 and M2, so I'm assuming it's the 8 GB of RAM that is key to making this work well on device.
I feel like this is a step in the right direction, but all the example's they are showing still feels like conversing with a computer in terms of flow vs. natural like you would an assistant.
Also, the most important question, are Google and Microsoft going to open their Apps to Apple Intelligence, or are they going to try to shoehorn in their own AI? People that use native apps for MS365 and/or Google Workspace make up a lot of iPhone users.
