This seems like the best implementation of AI in terms of UI/UX by far, but ultimately it still depends on how well it works in practice. I can see some of these ‘smart’ features get annoying real quick if they get it wrong every few questions.

Well that was a gigantic waste of 30 minutes of my life. Not sure how they can justify gate-keeping their headline feature by only releasing it to ONE of their phones.

Apple “Intelligence” my butt. Apple trying to pretend they did the hard, intellectual work when this is just a repackaged ChatGPT program. It’s the same shenanigans they pulled with Apple Silicon where they tried to pretend their “designs” are the reasons their chips performed well when chip design is insignificant and about as hard intellectually as ordering pizza.

Stop taking credit for other company’s inventions!
Google did the work that became ChatGPT, FYI. If putting ARM into everything is so easy, why has it taken years to even have any competition? Here's the issue: you do not recognize the work Apple IS doing in these areas because you're trying to minimize and fit it into your biased view.

I don't want to upgrade my shiny iPhone 14 Pro Max for an iPhone 16 Pro Max this fall when iOS 18 is released, but I will do so anyways.

It’s not selling out. It’s just ChatGPT letting Apple use their technology on their OS. It has zilch to do with any technical or innovative work on Apple’s end. My issue is that they’re lying by omission and pretending they did the inventing.

The name “Apple Intelligence” is so insufferable and blatantly misleading.
They're pretending they did the inventing? Where in the world did they say anything like that?

Says someone who's probably no longer demanding assembly of their pizzas at the nanometer scale. If the toppings molecules are not just right, it just doesn't taste the same. It took me 121 weeks to order my last pizza exactly as it should be assembled atom by atom. ;)
Pfft, quark-level assembly is where it’s at. You can REALLY taste the muon fluctuations!

Apple at WWDC today announced Apple Intelligence, a deeply integrated, personalized AI experience for Apple devices that uses cutting-edge generative artificial intelligence to enhance user experiences across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Powered by large-language models (LLMs), Apple Intelligence allows your devices to understand languages, images, actions, and personal context.

The feature boasts deep natural language understanding, allowing it to power new writing tools that can be accessed system-wide across Apple platforms. Apple Intelligence allows you to rewrite or proofread text automatically across Mail, Notes, Safari, Pages, Keynote, and third-party apps.

Apple Intelligence is grounded in a user's personal information, allowing it to access data from your apps and what's on your screen. At the same time, thanks to on-device processing, Apple Intelligence is aware of your personal data without collecting your data. And when it needs more compute capacity, it sends only the data needed to fulfill the request to Apple servers based on Apple Silicon, which share the same privacy and security capabilities of your iPhone.

At the heart of Apple Intelligence is Siri, which is now more natural, more contextually relevant, and more personal. The virtual assistant allows you to make corrections in real-time and maintains conversational context. Siri will also eventually have on-screen awareness, so if you ask it to do something related to what's going on in an app, it will know what you are talking about, without needing more information. Apple says Siri will be able to understand and take actions in more apps over time, and it includes a semantic index of photos, calendar events, and files.

Siri will also help you with your writing. A new feature called Rewrite allows you to change the tone or proofread inline text in Mail and other apps.

Apple Intelligence will automatically summarize notifications, too. A new Focus mode called "Reduce Interruptions" can automatically look at notifications and messages to see if they're important enough to interrupt you.

Apple Intelligence in iOS 18 requires iPhone 15 Pro, while on macOS 15 and iPadOS 17, Macs and iPads powered by M1 Apple silicon or later are required.

Well, I'm feeling good about owning a 15PM tonight 😁😅

Private cloud on Apple Silicon servers? Does this mean there is hope for Apple getting back into the server market? Tim, here are some organs I don't need. Liver, kidney, lung.

1st in line for the new Apple Silicon servers!
Aren't Apple servers just stacks of Mac Minis?

Fabrication is the hard part and more important to chip performance.

It is NOT their technology or invention. They had zilch to do with its development. Call it MacOS with ChatGPT or something. Calling it Apple Intelligence is misleading.
Apple Intelligence is the entire package. Just like ChatGPT is not GPT. Microsoft calls it Co-Pilot, are they also "stealing" something here?

I knew my iPhone 14 pro would be locked out of some AI features based on the rumors. I wasn't expecting it to be locked out of ALL of them. When they mentioned the cloud thing I thought "oh good, they have contingency plans for people like m---" "HAHAHAHA NO! SCREW MOTHER EARTH, BUY A NEW PHONE AND THROW THAT OLD POS AWAYYYYY!"
