Well, you are going to have to decide, won't you?

I know you want a future-proof iPad above as else. (Whatever that means.)

If the 10.5" comes in with 4gb RAM, you will automatically buy it.

If it comes with 2gb RAM, you will be sorely disappointed and hem and haw about whether to get one. Just like you acted when the Pro 9.7" came out.

If the 10.5" cord with 3gb RAM, what you will decide then???

I know your type. And I have a good memory. :)

I'm with you on that... just an indicator that we spend too much time here.

Yup ! I want it ! Any problem with you ? Now go away !

So stop with the comment about the 10.5" being ginormous!

The size difference between the 9.7 and the coming 10.5" isn't the main concern for you. Never was.

Just be honest with your posts.

( I'll be watching. :D )

There still seem to be significant bezels. I'm confused now as to the motivation of increasing the size marginally. Perhaps it is simply because they want to make the 10.5" the "iPad Pro Mini" - matching the PPI of the iPad mini but with the iPad Pro's resolution.

I might not be correct, but I really think this is primary reason for the 10.5" display. Both iPad Pros would have 2048x2732 resolution for better multitasking (and hopefully improvements with iOS 11), and the iPad 9.7" (and hopefully an update 7.9") would still be 2048x1536 which is ideal for single app full screen use.

This is a free forum I am not privy to your whims and fancies here on what you think I should be thinking and what decisions should I be taking.

I never expressed any interest in what you may be thinking.

And yes... I'll still be watching you. :D

I'm up for the 10.5 over the 12.9 if the Smart Keyboard WASD keys aren't misplaced like the current 9.7 one, and 4gb of ram. I don't want my iPhone to have more ram than my iPad that is supposed to replace my laptop.

I don't know what delays, it's not a massive redesign and I don't think there is much new tech that would delay it. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't appear at WWDC and is in fact announced in September.

We don't really know what could be behind the delay, but a higher resolution screen condensed into a smaller package, with the addition of true tone and potentially 3D touch could definitely lead to some issues. Just because it isn't a massive redesign, doesn't mean there aren't a ton of changes on the inside. And it will happen at WWDC, way too many clues at this point.

The view on MR Buyer's guide is depressing... Apple is "late" on EVERY product. What happened?

2 open questions:

1) The new format (10.5") will need some tweaking to iOS, I guess. Can we expect a 10.x update dealing with it? Otherwise, selling the iPad before iOS 11 would make no sense.

2) The 12.9" iPad is older than the 9.7". How would it fit with the upgrade to 10.5 while keeping the older 12.9 with a slower chipset?

1. Yes, the 10.3.3 update will likely address any format issues with the 10.5.
2. Both will be upgraded, but likely no physical changes to the 12.9.
