Good question. Perhaps it's because every week Apple comes out with a new concession, so perhaps by stoking the fire for another few days the iPhone 6 Craigslist crowd will get a free iPhone X and a trip to Jamaica thrown in for good measure. They have their victory, you think they could just take their lap and let it go.
This is what happens when a company doesn't stick to the policies they've established and go off the reservation. It's now a beggar's banquet, Apple's worst customers asking for a handout and it's never going to be enough, they keep coming back for more. And as one of Apple's best customers, I'm now getting annoyed. Where's my handout? Where's my $50 freebie that by their policies it states I am not entitled to? Do I have to rally the millions of others who just spent $5,000 at an Apple store to upgrade their families to iPhone X's and wireless chargers and leather cases so we get some sort of financial aid too? The bread line should go both ways.
