Had a similar issue with Mail not working. Had to turn off application filtering for Mail in AdGuard for it to start working again.

Erik,

I am running AdGuard. Mail won't even load for me on the latest Public Beta.

I brought up AdGuard but couldn't find where to turn this option off if it is on at all.

Any help you can provide? Thanks so much

On the new beta since last night; still requiring "Load Content Directly" on every message. Per someone's suggestion, just tried to turn off "Protect Mail Activity" on my iPhone in addition to my MacBook, in case those settings sync for some reason. Will report back here.

UPDATED: That didn't help.

i ran the public beta, then immediately reset nvram and... it seems to be working. i mean, i sent a few emails from one of my addresses to the other & back; everything worked and i got images this time.

try resetting nvram, let's see how this goes for others (& will keep an eye on my own email)

Well, I'll be damned!

Just installed PB 5 and Mail started right up for me.

It's working just fine. However, this is just an initial observation of using it for about 10 minutes.

So, thus far, for me, Mail finally works with this beta

Do remote images load without your pressing "Load Content Directly"?
it's fine here, finally. email has (for the last hour) worked, as it did way back in the pre-beta 3 days...

EDIT: ugh, maybe spoke to soon. an email just came in with no images, and the 'load content directly' button. so, again, will keep an eye on all of it.

No, not for me. I have to press the LOAD REMOTE CONTENT button.

However, I can deal with that for now. Just happy to have most of Apple Mail back in action
