Silicone cases are my favorite type of case because they are the most comfortable in the hand and look clean, so this is kinda sad to see. That being said, I’ve been using a third party silicone case for my 14PM that still looks brand new after many months, looks identical to an Apple case, and only cost $18 compared to Apple’s $50 cases that start falling apart after a few months. Apple usually has more colors available than third party brands do though.

I would support the change for something that is better for the environment. I just hope the new cases feel as good in the hand as the silicone cases do and that quality third party versions will be available. I’m guessing it will be hard for third party brands to replicate though since it’s probably Apple‘s own proprietary material.
Would you like to share the brand of your third-party case with us?

Mmm, yes. The watch bands are pretty great. What makes you think they’ll terminate their partnership with Nike? A hunch? Some other bit of info? I ask because I always buy the Nike edition of Watch - solely for the exclusive Nike faces. I mean, since there is no price difference, why not? 😜
the Nike watch faces are available on every AW, not just Nike anymore, I think that changed last year.
I have only bought Nike sport bands cause the holes make the band more "breathable" plus those easily dry off

The best case Apple has ever produced, that is both recyclable and compostable, is the box the iPhones come in. They’re protective, good looking and can even hold additional items like the charging cable and a sticker. When they release them in an even thinner form factor, they’ll be able to charge us all $49 more if we want the iPhone box/case…
Lol what?

Oops, I said “changed or ended” but that was probably still a poor choice of words to express the possibilities I was actually thinking about. Unlike Hermes, Nike is a brand that isn’t dependent upon a specific material for its Apple products, so I’m more inclined to think it’s just going to be a change of materials…rather than the nature of the partnership. Sorry for my lack of clarity!

‘Next generation’. It’s a case ffs. Can’t wait to hear the nonsense they described the new ones. Oh, by the way, ‘next generation’ means ‘price increase’

Next-generation is not referring to the case as an end-product. It's referring to the material used to make the case.

Case in point (pun intended) ... a phone lets you make phone calls. An old rotary phone was still as much of a phone as your modern digital computer-in-your-pocket smartphone. The latter is made of next-generation components, but it's still a phone.

Fine with me. They did not last very long before being torn. Apple needs to make all of their cases so that they have a gap at the bottom for easier up swiping. The leather and clear cases have this feature.

If true, this is huge disappointment for me. The leaked FineWoven cases look like they could come apart at the edges. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. If I decide to upgrade, I may go case-less for the first time since the 4S and just buy a glass protector for front and back protection.

Same. Felt good in-hand but the pocket-drag (is that a thing?) was not ideal. Because of that, I switched to the thin cases Totallee offers. Perfect, tho a bit pricey for what they are. Awesome customer service.

I’d love to see Apple’s take on the super thin case. Pretty sure they’re leaving money on the table by not offering such.
I switched to the Apple Clear case. It’s super slippery in the pocket.

The only reason why my Apple Silicone cases haven’t chipped is because I use them at minimum one day a month. They’re hard to put in and take out of my pocket, so I barely use them. I’m not mad if Apple discontinue the Silicone cases because they are overpriced to begin with.

The irony when Apple tries to make itself sound ethical by mentioning their recycling, and green credentials - meanwhile they have sweat shops in China where people commit suicide.

Do you guys think Apple will go for recycled plastics…?
