Have you encountered bugs in the Apple Music App/Service?

Mine freezes and crashed constantly. Sigh...

This is the new Apple. Constant bugs and updates to those bugs with more bugs.

Why can't playlists be just playlists. Why do the artists and albums contained within have to populate the regular Artists and Albums tab. The Beats app didn't do this, neither does Spotify.

Now my Albums tab is full of albums that only have 1 song because I have a playlist that contains it. This makes me have to SCROLL SCROLL SCROLL to get to a real full fledged album.

Just looks tacky.

You can avoid the playlist bug by adding songs from the search results and not from the album or artist page.

Typing with the new iOS after the update goes very very slow...

I disabled most of it, but for some reason the "Connect" page shows several artists that I didn't follow and when I look at my settings it says I'm only following one group (which I willingly followed). I can't delete/unfollow the other artists that automatically appear.

Every song in the library must belong to an album, that's the rigid organisational scheme in iTunes. As soon as a song is references somewhere in the the library (e.g. as part of a playlist) it brings with it its album. If it doesn't have an album iTunes will create one called "Unknown Album" for it.

This isn't new in Apple Music, though, it's always been like that in iTunes.

Yes, I'm aware it's always been the issue with iTunes.

I'm just saying the Beats app didn't work like this. Any artist that was in a Playlist, didn't auto populate in the regular Artist view in the app. Spotify does similar organization. That way you're not scrolling through a gazillion artists that only have 1 song to in order to get an album you were looking for. It's just a mess the way Apple iTunes does it.

This is the reason I was using 2 apps for my music. iTunes for my full fledged albums and no playlists. And Spotify for user curated playlists or ones that I think of myself. Spotify's UI and navigation is a mess, but at least they have this basic organization feature in place. I may just have to go full Spotify now that I see Apple continues to adopt this absurd method of organization.

I've been listening to Apple music all day and haven't had a single issue - I did have a problem last night just after iTunes was launched that it showed albums added from my iPhone but wouldn't let me play them (sorted itself out overnight though)

The only issue I have with the design of the app is the play controls are too easy to catch by mistake when navigating the tabs at the bottom: Beyond that, I'm more than happy with apple music

Basically any new software Apple releases lately as "BETA" is more of an "ALPHA". The public release has become the new "BETA" I dont care if its a new service. Make it separate and integrate it when its virtually bug-free. This is iOS 8.4 and many of us are experiencing issues that make this feel like 8.0.0. It's a joke. Glad we can roll back while its still possible.

And to anyone say they have NO ISSUES. I challenge you to use the music app and your device on and off for hours, not a few minutes. I thought things may have been back to normal this morning when I used the app for a few hours. Then after about 4 hours the stuttering and sluggishness was back when exiting the app or waking my device or scrolling around when the track changed. Theres obviously a memory leak going on or a total hogging of resources going on during these periods of lag.

I've got all my songs from my Mac showing up on my iphone, even when I've got the option to show only offline music turned on. No toggling of the switch will fix it.

I had to eventually just turn off iCloud Music Library on my MBP. That was the only way to clear all the songs I didn't want from my phone.

Right now I am having an issue when listening to Beats1 where the "Currently Playing Song" shows the song that last played 35ish minutes ago and won't change to match the song currently playing.

Even if I kill the app and open it back up it still shows that song. If I play something else and go back to Beats1 it still shows that song.

So if I want to know what is currently playing I have to open up Shazam, which starts the music playing through that app, Shazam it (which doesn't work with headphones on), click on the button to "Play in Apple Music" to be brought to the album page and then add it to my library from there.

Yep. Me too. It's broken. I've been liking the wrong songs apparently because of this.

How are you turning this off on your Mac? I don't see the option anywhere.

Still trying to differentiate between Apple Music radio and iTunes Radio. I'm still able to listen to Recently Played iTunes Radio stations, but I'm unable to create new stations. Is this a bug of iTunes 12.2 or is Apple removing this functionality for non-subscribers of Apple Music?

Everything seems to be working better for me in the last hour. iPad, 6 Plus and MbP all seem to be syncing instantly.

You should not be able to add a playlist to itself. So either when that option is selected exclude the playlist you're currently in or if you do tap it by mistake don't add the songs to the playlist again thereby duplicating everything in the playlist.

FYI. They change your file names if you download. I found out the hard way. Have a backup people.

I agree with the points made here, and am not totally surprised since I previously had a very bad experience with iTunes Match. The lag compared to Spotify (and in fact a couple of actual interruptions) and the fact that you can't readily distinguish between your own music library and albums that you've saved offline from Apple Music are the ones that I personally find the most troubling. However, to be fair, Apple Music does a very good job of recommending music based on my preferences, especially after I went through the process of identifying genres and artists a few times. It will be interesting to see if these issues improve over the next 3 months.

This happened to me. I went through my Library and deleted all the songs that came from playlists (this took a while, do it in iTunes if you can). Now that my library is all cleaned up, when I add a new playlist, none of those songs get added to my library. I think it was just a duplication error fro the transition form Beats.

I'm going to play with it tonight then. I used iTunes and my "recently added" smartplaylists and delete all those that came from the Apple Music.

Are you adding a new playlist from your phone?

Yeah. For example, on my phone I added a playlist from For You and it showed up only in Playlists. I checked through my Library and the songs weren't there. And the playlist also showed up in Playlists in iTunes, but not Library. My most recent Recently Added is an album I added before. So everything is now working as expected.

I think it's been confusing some people because songs from playlists don't show up in the library unless you specifically choose the song. But I prefer it that way because I like my library to be just full albums.

Completely agree

the whole company is taking a turn for the worse over the past years. more more more and more bugs in everything that is getting released.
Would hate the call on steve jobs but seriously, apple was my apple when steve was there. he just did NOT accept bad stuff. it needed to WORK. and work WELL. thats the whole thing why alot people like apple. now they are still here because its compatible and they are used to it. im getting sick of all these bugs i feel like a android user.
iOS 9 will be the moment of truth.

sorry for the rant. im getting tired of these things that are not the apple i used to know.

This. I've about had it with Apple.

Every release, whether software of point releases is simply riddled with bugs. These are show stopping bugs and not little things that I can work around.

I've noticed that Apple doesn't use the tag line "just works" anymore in Keynotes. Now I know why. They simply aren't thinking things through. Even with all these "betas", it still doesn't work as intended or explain well enough so people know what's going on before they get their libraries destroyed.

This is getting ridiculous. Depending on what happens upon release, iOS 9 may be my last dance with Apple.

My new pet hate is  Music thinks it's been clever by hiding the remixers name in a song title, so now I get 4 different versions of a track with the song title the same on everyone and no way to tell them apart. No idea why it does it, i've watched it hide them even, and yet leave them on other tracks, if you try to share the track the remixer name appears in the share sheet! If you go back to the release page on New there are the remix names again, what on earth Apple?!

I'm adding the above thing that you should be able to create playlists without that one song going into your main library, if you can add public playlists without this happening why can't you do it with your own?

My Evernote piece is growing as I note other people's bugs and unacceptable quirks

Seriously so true. The iPad app is a joke. The touch targets on the mini player buttons are so large is ridiculously easy to hit them when trying to tap "for you" or "my music". They cant even get touch targets right!! Even swipe to go back is still flaky as hell you have to swipe the whole damn screen for it to register sometimes. Sorry folks but the first time that would happen under Steve's watch.....well....it wouldn't have. He used to examine things at the pixel level and thats form people who worked with him first hand. Apple QA for software is a joke the past couple years.

Beats was 100000 times better. I wish I could go back until this is all sorted out.
I could not agree more. One of the biggest issues is that when I do a search it shows my music that I already own without any other results. When I tried turning off my library the results were all over the place and if I did click on a result it showed me the album or artist page with no songs listed. What the hell is that??

And then even if I found something more often than not it simply would play. What a horrible app.
