For anyone cares, i'm working on this and submitting to Apple via my dev account bug reporter - i hope someone reads it, if anyone wants to add anything they've found, let me know.

Yeah, on me iPad 2 air, I cannot tap on artists in the 'related artists' sidebar when you go to an artist detail page. Reproduce it by: search for artist, tap artist, try tap a related artist. Will not work for me.

Also, Apple Music does not store what I add to my collection from Apple Music, no matter whether I try it from os x iTunes or iPad or iPhone (5s).

Apple Music on iPad also crashes, and before crash the UI often completely freezes to the extent where I cannot use the home button anymore! Like I'm using Windows 3.1, the whole iPad freezes.

Seriously so true. The iPad app is a joke. The touch targets on the mini player buttons are so large is ridiculously easy to hit them when trying to tap "for you" or "my music". They cant even get touch targets right!! Even swipe to go back is still flaky as hell you have to swipe the whole damn screen for it to register sometimes. Sorry folks but the first time that would happen under Steve's watch.....well....it wouldn't have. He used to examine things at the pixel level and thats form people who worked with him first hand. Apple QA for software is a joke the past couple years.

There was this time when QA was also relaxed upto the point where their products and apps had such large mistakes. Also, Steve wasn't in the building at that time, being fired.. Anybody remember the Macintosh Performa and the first PowerPC versions? Let alone the crashes of System 7. It made me switch to Windows, 95 back then. Can you imagine? I hope history will not repeat itself. If so, Steve will not turn things around this time.

This is what happens when they try to please everyone by putting in every feature.

I am also a user of spotify but the interface is very functionally bad (although looks nice). If spotify only put on a home button or something as I hate having to keep pressing the back button.

Also both services seem to have some overlap and confusion when make music available offline - spotify is especially confusing because you can select that option in different places like artist, album, or song and forget which one actually triggered the song to be offline and start turning different options in and off. Apple music is not much better and uses the tiniest icon indicator to show only in album view and has different ways to select offline which overlap but at least gives option to quickly only show offline music and manage that way.

I agree. What frustrates me is that aditude on stage, joking around playing karaoke etc. Feels like there's no focus. BTW, thank God for youtube and the old Keynotes by Jobs. Those days are gone.

Yes I experience all those bugs on the iPad Air 2 as well - shame cos the artist suggestions have been pretty good and extensive...but you can't press on them!

I'm actually surprised at how little news this bugged release is generating. You search google for Apple Music news stories and 90% of them are about how great it is.

Is the general public seriously not having all these issues? I don't know how anyone could call it great at this point.

Heads-up that I just discovered in both my phone and iPad that under Settings there's a new option for Music and turning on the iCloud library. Neither was on by default, despite what I did in the app.

Turning both on has made a HUUUUGE difference in what's synced across my devices now--all my playlists, all my music, etc. That's good news. Check that setting for sure.

Does anyone else get annoyed that half the time I click on 'add to my music' - it just doesn't do it? Lost count of how many times it has happened..Would love some way of adding Beats1 tracks to my music too!

Seems like a WiFi only function. Try it when you're connected to a WiFi network.

Not everyone is you. It's impossible to 100% please everyone. You guys are having bugs and aren't happy with the way the app functions, those are real problems and opinions you have, so I'm not diminishing them - but the fact is that 90% of what people are saying about AM is glowingly positive because 90% of people are having glowingly positive experiences with AM.

I'm one of those people. The only real bug i've encountered is some songs not winding up in playlists after I selected to put them there. It's an annoying bug for sure, but far from a show stopper. Overall i've had an incredible time for the past few days listening to AM non stop, discovering so much awesome new music I never would've heard otherwise. I've been having a huge blast with it and it's had me constantly smiling and dancing around.

They need to separate it from iTunes, I feel like at any moment I might miss click and buy the track. It's so tedious having to search for music and add it to your playlist.

Well, I came here wondering if anyone else was having the problems I was, and I've seen them all listed [tracks not playing, freezing or timing out, app crashing]

I haven't tried to put together a playlist yet. Maybe the search text window is smaller than I'm used to, it feels cramped. Driving? Forget it, you're listening to what's on. . assuming it plays.... I've had it just stop.

On the flip side, When it DOES work, I tend to like the music choices it spits out, and they have a lot of tracks that Spotify just didn't. Sure, I don't understand why the ONE MC CHRIS album they *DON'T* have is Fette's Vette [and this isn't the only artist I've noticed] but the music overall isn't bad.

Has anyone else noticed a huge difference in sound between spotify and Apple Music? On a few tracks, Music seemed to be playing a really low bitrate or overly compressed stream, while others seem to have a greater depth of feel and more complete harmonics (A few songs had instrumental parts that just didn't seem to be there on the Spotify version. Yes, I tried them back to back)

Google search is useless to find any articles people having problems. Google search is just a paid shill search engine where only advertisers who pay spam the links with crap.

It's a shame to see so many negative experiences, that stinks. Personally I, like Modulist above, am not experiencing many of these issues. Sure there's a few hiccups that I've noticed but nothing that I don't know will undoubtedly be fixed eventually. Right now my biggest issue I think is the fact that songs I add to playlists are automatically added to my library. Makes the artist list very crowded. I'm sure they will fix this eventually, as the same exact thing happened when Spotify launched the "Your Music" section, and they ended up changing it.

For me, the fact that I can edit the metadata of streaming music that I've added to my library is the final nail in the coffin for my Spotify subscription. Absolutely wonderful - and works very well.

Are Apple really that scared of Tidal, Spotify or whoever for the core members to justify releasing this BOTCHED product so fast?

Anyone else feel like it was just yesterday we were reading about 'rumors' involving Apple trying to get record partnerships? They've had Beats since August and somehow in the span of 9-10 months they've actually degraded the overall quality of the original platform they purchased.

I would have rather waited a few more months for an Apple Music debut with iOS 9. Maybe that way they would have worked things out with the people that don't want their music on AM before rudely removing it without notice:

Worked fine yesterday but apparently Tame Impala don't like Apple Music. Terrible.

  1. Hearting on Beats 1 is borked for me. If I like a song, no matter the device, the heart stays filled in when the track changes. It's as if it's liking the whole radio station instead of just the one track playing. Surely this is a bug.
  2. Yesterday, I could airplay Beats 1 and a couple of times it froze up. Today, I can't airplay Beats 1 at all, but I can still airplay all other music.
  3. Why can't I create playlists with Apple Music songs without them being added to my music library? If I create a 300+ song playlist all of a sudden my music library is chock-a-block full of album covers with single songs in them. Why can't it just be like the apple curated lists that don't go ahead and add music to the library. I hate that I can't have playlists without having the songs in my library. It could be more like Spotify here.
  4. Why does search have to have a local tab and an apple music tab which switches depending on what screen you're searching from? I don't care if a song is in my local library or apple music - I just want the song without having to click the other tab when it's not found. This makes it a chore to build playlists.
  5. Why can't we have publically curated playlists? Spotify's biggest drawcard is the fact you can find and follow playlists of the public, and there's some real gems out there. The whole playlists tab needs a major overhaul. It should be like the 'for you' section but with a bunch of playlists and the old beats playlist generator.
  6. I also tried importing an iTunes compatible playlist file and it refuses to import songs that aren't already in my library. Why can't it search Apple Music, find the songs, and build the playlist on that!? Sheesh.

There are problems with Artists with the same name, for example, there are two bands called "Equilibrium", one is metal and the other is Jazz, and @connect thinks that they are the same Band and mix all the albums. I can't believe that they identify the bands by name and not using an ID.

I'm noticing in iTunes that sometimes when you click into the comments on the Connect tab, the back button doesn't always work.

I thought I was the only one. I blamed my fat fingers. Whenever I go to "For You", there's a 50% chance that I pause my music instead.

Major reproducible bug: When I go to an artist page on my iPad Air 2, it first loads a page with small album icons. Everything seems to work fine there. After a few seconds, it does a re-layout with larger album pictures. Nothing works there at all, or at least everything is extremely slow. I can't tap on a song or an album anymore (well, I can tap on it, but the app ignores the tap).

From there on, it's all downhill. After visiting an artist page, hardly anything works anymore in the Music app. I have to kill it then, or after a little while, it decides to commit suicide and crashes.

Anyone else who has this? If this is a general issue, then I really have to wonder how this went through testing.

Only issue I've come across which started today for some reason.

If I'm playing a track then lock the iPhone and that track ends and plays into the next, the lock screen still shows that first track, I'm also unable to pause or go back or forward with tracks. Then if I unlock my iPhone to change track nothing happens and the app crashes.

This also applies to my own music and Apple music playlists I've added to music.

Any one else got these problems and other?

After setting up a like for like Spotify playlists on music on iP6+ with the offline mode followed by a very stiff neck, 70% of the tracks were greyed out offline. Day 2; 90% of the tracks simply disappeared . My iPad Air 2 was left out of the fun as the playlists did not sync across.

I was so looking forward to using Siri, I like the For You feature, not particularly keen on Radio 1.

Suffice to say the trial option is pointless but 'am hopeful. As you 've all mentioned they need to call on the bug busters
