Have you encountered bugs in the Apple Music App/Service?

iTunes will be the death of Apple Music. The app is so clunky. Spotify is such a cleaner easier experience to search for music. Apple Music is just all over the place and very hard on the eyes to discover music. Apple so needs a stand alone music app. Kill off iTunes already.

Sorry if this has been touched upon already on this thread and sorry if I sound pro noob.

I had a few playlists and songs from AM that i 'added to music' and didn't save for offline. There on all my iOS devices, just looked on iTunes and the songs are there but i can't play them, there cloud is in the corner does that mean i have to download them first to play them via my MBP? I just though you could stream them without having to download as such?

And if you do download them from your iPhone for offline streaming would they then become playable straight away via MBP or an iPad etc?

EDIT: Just searched for one of the song's via iTunes clicked on it and its started playing it, but i can't actually play in via the playlist? Not sure why i have to search for the song first?

Further EDIT: God i should really check this so i don't constantly edit, looked at my iPad all the playlists are there and they work directly from my iPad

Believe me folks, Apple reps at their stores are confused as heck.

I have been to three different stores since launch, hope you get better answers/help than I did.

So after a few days I was finally able to turn iCloud Music Library back on (it kept failing) but all it did was change covers. It didn't bring across any of the albums I added to My Music on my MacBook. :(

now i cant add music to my music on iPad. three dots dont do anything. smh

oh look another issue. i give up ...

Ok so Apple Music isn't even working for me now, keeps telling me to join Apple Music even though I have already joined when it first launched and been using the service (if that's what you can call it) for days! If I select a plan anyway it just hangs for hours... I've tried everything and the weird thing is, I can still listen to music in the my music section that I added from Apple Music! Such a buggy mess

Spotify Have Nothing To Worry About At This Rate In fact, I bet they are sitting in a conference room laughing their asses off...

Apple need to sort this mess out and quick or Apple Music will be a flop... Personally I have gone back to Spotify, have turned Apple Music off in the settings app and have no intention of using it in the immediate future :apple:

I haven't tried Apple Music as a service, but everything that surrounds it doesn't appeal me one bit so far.

In iTunes 12.2 :
- It all starts with the icon. It doesn't fit in.
- None of the radios work except Beats 1, and even then...
- The radios list isn't particularly appealing. I would have expected a more interactive/vivid UI. It's just a static webpage.
- I un-followed Muse in Connect and it's still there
- When I go to an Artist on the Store, say The Killers for example, I would have expected a "Follow on Connect" button, yet it's not there. I managed to follow them, but I have no idea how I did it.
- The Connect page is a pile of junk on a Mac. It looks like they've thrown me the iPhone layout :

Well let me start by saying that my experience is absolutely horrible. Constant iCloud issues, tracks not available, radio refusing to play, unable to start a new station from a song or artist, unable to add to my music, unable to download, sync between devices badly broken.

So what i did is turned it off, but now i have another problem with my purchased music which shows up fine on my Mac, but refuses to do so on my iPhone and iPad.

Apple Music and iCloud is one big headache and i regret i signed up. So much time wasted.

One more thing i noticed. Music controls on the lock screen become very sluggish and glitchy. I tap to skip to the next songs, but it skips 2 or 3 songs and then pauses. Then if if i slide to the right to enter the unlock code it starts to stutter and lag like crazy.

I disable apple music and that issue is gone. Hmmm...

Why is Apple so bad at this stuff ! They are the most richest company in the world ! They could hire the best software designers in the world..

And yet we get this crap....

My thoughts exactly... They're probably to busy sailing around on their multi million dollar yachts...
I am seriously beginning to question Apple as a company...

There is also no option to add radio stations to the radio page. you can share it but not save it. add it to features please.

Apple has given customers a 3 month trial period.

I can understand if they are taking money out of your account.. Bash away! But at least give them the benefit of the doubt... If the service hasn't improved in the length of the trial period. Then yeah... Simply cancel & use Spotify.

I like Apple Music so far... It was rather confusing to start, but eventually I got the just of it. Are there any hiccups? Yes... But I'll wait it out until the 3 month period to find out whether it's really worth. But my take on it... Is to wait it out.

I'm sure when iOS 9 comes out they'll be even more changes to Apple Music.

Trial is to evaluate the service not to alpha test it.

Fair enough. All I'm simply stating is that there is a fairly lengthy trial period. And there are other options out there...

I will give it a try after one month. That's how much time i can give Apple to put it together. If nothing changes then i'll just keep using Spotify and go on with my life. I don't have time and energy to mess around with stuff that should be 'set it up and forget about it'.

Funny. There is a video on youtube showing some of the bugs in Apple Music, but it's in russian. So one of the bugs is that after the guy downloaded the songs some of the songs changed their names :D

and one more bug i found myself that i forgot is that some albums of my favorite artists have acoustic version and those songs have (acoustic) in their title, but once i download them that part disappears and i see two songs with same name and no idea which is which.

Totally understand. I signed up for Spotify when they announced podcast were coming to the service. Not sure when they plan on implementing... Or maybe they have already.

I like Spotify... I think it has a cool layout, everything seemed easy to navigate. But I like the Family Plan for Apple Music... I'm going to wait out the 3 month period & see how it goes.

I experienced a lot of these bugs with Apple Match (where equivalent features are present) - Playlist issues, slow streaming speeds/offline sync speeds and a complete mess when it comes to playlist order syncing/ordering by date added type features.

Clearly AM is an extension of their already-cruddy Match framework.

Apple really needs to sort out their whole iCloud underlying framework/architecture if you ask me! - It just feels rather...flakey and not quite up to par as competitive services. Some may argue "it's new!" and yes it is. But on the flip side that also means Apples had years to observe their competitors and see what experiences users like and dislike.

They may of got things down to a T for most where it comes to exclusive content, industry buy-in and artist involvement/curated playlists (IMHO all that looks a bit tacky cheap and "hipster" which doesn't appeal to me due to personal taste/judgement of hipsters but that's besides the point!), but what's the point in having all that and spending millions to do it if the underlying technology is utter crud?

Makes me wonder if they've actually got any good cloud architects there/skills with EC2. Judging by the packet traces coming out of my network a lot of their stuff is (or was until very recently!) completely powered/dependent on Amazon EC2 instances. This is potentially something outside their control, however their competitors as well as others also use EC2 extensively and work it well so it's doubtful we can excuse them based on this (Spotify and Netflix are good Amazon Cloud reference companies!).

Too many people are dependent on the iTunes family as their main source of enjoying their music. Apple match has ruined that even for people that largely rely on their existing albums through such bugs as removing remix names etc. By all means launch a new service Apple, but please don't ruin existing features for the rest of us, and please label it as a Beta as you know your users have very high standards based on prior experiences and successes so (rightfully) expect the best from you.

At least we're not paying at the moment, so this initial 3 month trial will be perfect for Apple to try and fix the issues that are there and make things right before people start paying. Lots will pay either way because it's 'Apple' and even if nothing changes they will come and buy and suffer through a substandard product and convince themselves it's worth it. I'm sure they'll have enough users to make a profit on the service it is Apple after all! - Doesn't mean they shouldn't have the best service they can and the type of product like the ones we all have loved over the years :)
Hopefully they'll have enough feedback from efforts such as the OP and their evernote list to tackle these issues :).
Good luck Apple!

Another bug: playlists wont sync the sorting. they sync songs i add or remove, but it will just add songs to the end of the playlist and not in the order i have set. More people with this problem or a work around that doesnt make me put them all in manual correct order?

I get this 70% of the time that I sort.
I only sort via artist A-Z or date added for a "recently highly rated" style smart playlist.
I find when I click the bar at the top for recently added it only syncs 70% of the time. The artist one seems to have more success.
I've had this issue ever since switching to Apple Match (hence my suspicion of being on the same architecture/framework in my previous post!

A potential workaround though for any smart playlists:
- Order how you like
- Cmd + A to select all songs in the playlist
- Create a new normal non-smart playlist and click the sorting bar to what you prefer (second step is just incase)
- Cmd to paste the songs into the non-smart playlist. They should go in in the same order
- Wait for it to sync to the i-device. I get 90% of updates within 5 minutes and the rest 6 hours later.

Many of the UX, UI and software engineers who worked on the original OS X and iOS no longer work at Apple.
So don't expect the same fit and finish from Apple anymore. Maybe after they've finished their campus and hire more people perhaps.
