But: I just got this in my bunq app. When I click on add to Apple Pay, it says "incorrect region" and a button with "tell me how to fix this".

And it was in discussion to change from established schemes and networks to MC/Visa. And if you have already an established scheme/network I don’t see the advantage for cash supply. That’s what I meant.
Won’t notice too much. N26 app had similar „signs“ a few weeks back.
My bunq app shows the same and it’s been like this ever since they launched Apple Pay in Italy. So it’s nothing new at all. I guess you were one of the lucky people that used the region trick back when it was still working.

The screenshots definitely look legit, but I'm not sure about that email (sender is "Pay Apple").
Apple would also send this email in the users language (German, in this case) and not in English.
You’ll get this screens when you try to set up Apple Pay Cash after you changed the region DE -> US -> DE. This is absolutely not legit. Sorry guys.
I also got the Apple Pay Cash prompt using the DE->US->DE trick long time ago but I never saw the wizard for "Lichtbildausweis scannen" only the SSN prompt. Can't check it right now cause there's an error that Apple Pay Cash services are unavailable atm.

I also received these a month ago. You get these if you try more than three times.
Nothing about this is new. Stuff like this is going around for months and is all about region settings.
