It’s funny that your trying to be smart :).
To bad that I saw that yesterday in a demo presentation.

That means u don’t need a card... just add your Konto from your DB app.

Haters :D if you never saw one? Just see post 26806419

Nothing to do with haters, problem is that you have told us a lot of stuff which turned out to be false (not saying a lie). and so its kinda hard to believe you or your sources now, just face that

The end is wrong!
You don’t need to have a MasterCard with them.
If your have just a regular account with them and start the DB app it’s showing u add card to wallet without having a MasterCard. Konto ist das Zauberwort.

don't think you will be able to technically add your "Konto" to the wallet, it will be a virtual card.

@Praeceptor

I already wrote on Twitter that at the moment there is no ETA for Apple Pay right know... even the banks have no idea when the release is bc they don’t have a ETA it was set for the 12. or 13. of November and Apple Tool These Dates back. To be honest I don’t know when Apple Pay gonna be available for Germany.

That describes the way Paypal is matching GooglePay. It is possible but does not implement GiroCard to the payment system

Are there any possibilities that Applepay still starts 2018?

But that's exactly what I wrote. If you don't have one, you just add a virtual one within the app. It's also what Deutsche Bank keeps telling on the website, that's nothing new either.

Exactly. It's a virtual Mastercard, not Maestro and not girocard.

i have some news, not sure if it's the truth but will share it.

I received my Payback AMEX Today and started the activation process. After all i wondered about the Card Limit, as for the beginning this will be my Daily Card using with Apple Pay (my main bank account is at ING and they won't be on board, the secondary is DKB and i also have a new with comdirect but not sure if i will change there) and wanted to know the limits. So i called the AMEX Hotline (069 9797-10 00) and asked for the Limit of the Card.

They told me that there is no limit and the card is "limitless" and asked me, why i am asking this question. So i answered it with the future plans to use it with Apple Pay Start in Germany daily at Kaufland, Lidl, Aldi, REWE and all other AMEX Accepting stores so i wanted to have i "higher limit" for daily usage and that "no limit" thing is good in this case.

The Agent on the AMEX side answered not exactly like this (as we talked in german) but meant:

Nice, so you haven't to wait a long time, as Apple Pay will start in next month, December. We have already an internal memo for this.

I asked him for the exact date and if he can tell me and received: We know it will start in December but as hint you may be lucky with 10.12. - 15.12.

i am confused a little bit, i asked comdirect on the phone for any dates as i told them, the main reason for changing from ING would be Apple Pay and they told me that they don't know any facts. And i mean, it could be truth as i can imagine that comdirect don't want that any Call Center Agents breaks the NDA with Apple.

What do you think about that? Dou you think AMEX has published an internal memo with the start of Apple Pay in December?

That's the reason why i cannot be really sure. But on the other side, the Agent was really safe in his speaking and told me this without a question from my side. I only said: nice, i will use it soon after Apple Pay start in Germany.

that's really strang

same what I have thought

Saudi arabia over one month now. ;)

True. In the bigger picture Apple said it would launch later this year for Germany though. So anything else seems like paranoia.

I find it strange how a, presumably rather low level, customer support agent would know something (and tell customers confidently on the phone) that not even well connected journalists such as Rudolf Linsenbarth know about?

you're right, it's strange but as i written it above: why should anyone tell me this without a question from my side, if he don't know any about it. The first Question regarding to Apple Pay from my side came AFTER he told me, that it will start in December.

I want to believe but i'll be carefully with this.

Maybe girocards for some banks already in 2018 after all
The delays would surely be more reasonable if it was due to implementation of a new payment network.
