I was wondering the very same. Deutsche Bank successfully started processing Sepa instant payments yesterday.
No word from N26.
So maybe a little late but I just saw an interview from last Saterday with the head economist from BNP Paribas Fortis where he basically confirms that Apple Pay is coming in November.
There is no real hype. Just some guys on the internet are excited ... the majority of Germany and the even the majority of iPhone users have no opinion about Apple Pay (if they ever heard of it yet).
They don't care at all – a newspaper article in the FAZ or Zeit doesn't change that.
Twitter and MacRumors are by far not representative. Don't overestimate yourself, your bubble and Apple Pay.

At least in winter, you won’t be paying much with the watch. Trust me. Since it is „Pullover and jacket westher“, I paid with my Watch just once. It’s easier and faster to pull out the phone or the real cards.

The document only showed back-end readiness. They can launch it whenever they want; I was assuming it could be soon due to that email someone got and I can‘t see a reason why they would hold out for long.

Wich language do see on the terminals?
I've got boon FR, push in german, terminal french, iOS german.
Friend of mine: boon FR, push french, terminal english, iOS english
boon FR, push notifications from boon. app in French, terminal English (I think - I'm usually busy packing up my groceries after the beep. I think I would have noticed if it was in French, though.), iOS in English (US).
Account is French, App is Swiss, Push was German, terminal is French, iOS German
seems to be a first reaction after having registered for their launch info service, but it sounds better than a "coming soon", more like a "coming very soon" ...
But what's the deal with the NFC/contactless logo in the upper left hand corner? I always get extremely annoyed when cards show that symbol in Apple Pay because it is completely unnecessary. Since its not a physical card people obviously know that it's contactless...so why put in on the virtual card?!
Maybe that is not the final design!!

and scroll to the middle where it shows the comdirect card without the NFC symbol.
Maybe comdirect only uses it in their marketing material to clearly show of that it´s about NFC.
it actually makes a ton of sense UX wise. it's positive affirmation. users will see the NFC logo within the Apple Pay UI and at the POS and they'll know immediately they can use it to complete their purchase. I wouldn't get too "extremely annoyed" by it..
Usually the physical is mirrored. If the physical card has the contactless icon, the digital version would inherit it as well.
