I mean I trust him somewhat, but why would he know the dates 28/29 and not one specific date/week? And then he said: "EHER letzteres" its weird... If someone who knows the date would tell him one week I would understand him but then he would say like 27-29 and not "EHER" thursday... (maybe im just overthinking it tho)

In German: Wenn ihn jemand aus Bankenkreisen sagt, diese Woche, dann hat doch jeder Tag die gleiche Wahrscheinlichkeit und man sagt nicht "eher Donnerstag" oder?

Possibly he was told something like 'late next week' ("Gegen Ende der Woche")?. This wording rules out Tuesday, and suggests Thursday (but also leaves a slight possibility for Wednesday and he is covering his bases).

Ah okay right... didnt think about that.

Version is now 1.9.0, release notes are:

- Geldautomatensuche
- Kontostandanzeige auf der Apple Watch
- Shortcuts auf dem Homescreen können editiert werden
- Behebung einiger Fehler

Seems to be more than a SSL fix.

Also interesting - the Deutsche Bank App Apple Pay confit Data has been created in September 2015. If it really took them 3 years to reach a deal - that’s quite impressive and sad actually.

That's from the Deutsche Bank APP. So only Mastercard and no EC what it seems

"EC" (or the Girocard/Maestro card) was never going to be implemented. Some are assuming that they will offer a free MC Debit virtual card (although I doubt that will be completely free).

comdirect will just use the Wallet as the method to connect the card with a verification code via SMS. It's the same principle when you add your N26 card directly via Wallet.

But I hope that comdirect will some day add some necessary features to their app, such as:

- Card Control
- real-time transaction info for Visa and push notifications
- seeing the IBAN when receiving a payment

But the first two are the ones that are most important to me as they have become essential when you look at other banks, even ING.

Yes, that would be great. But I fear that Commerzbank / comdirect will have a lot of work to do on their backend before that happens (they can't even transfer money from one internal account to another instantly - can take up to a day which is pathetic).

Other than that: If Apple Pay is to launch this week, they're keeping it bloody watertight! None of my cards are producing any hints of an imminent launch when trying to add them to Wallet (apart from Visa cards issued in DE referring to this page: https://www.apple.com/de/apple-pay/banks/de/en-de.html).

EDIT: And this -> https://twitter.com/timohetzel/status/1067062313168056320
I don't know what to believe any more...

Still faster than Amazon. I've ordered Kingdom Hearts III on 3. July 2013 and am still waiting for delivery :D

Who is this guy please???

Timo Hetzel, host of Bitsandso and a tech blogger/guy. I'm not all too familiar with German techies. But: As far as I know they let it slip that he knows someone fairly high up at Fidor Bank (and he also lives in Munich ;)).

We also assume that Rudolf Linsenbarth has connections to comdirect / Commerzbank.

Question is: Who knows more

Well, seems they’re still busy modernizing their whole IT department and getting it back in-house. As well as dealing with Worldline as a payment processor. Also one of the reasons why currently only their Visa is used for Google/ Apple Pay. They’ve announced support for the Girocard in Google Pay for next year, let’s see what comes out.

Other than that, I would say that bunq and Revolut are the golden standards for banking apps - both are native apps with native elements and UI, not even N26 feels like they do.
