Denkbar wäre zum Beispiel, dass wir in Zukunft an der Supermarktkasse die Zahlung nur noch mit einem „comdirect, bitte Einkauf bezahlen“ bestätigen – einfacher geht es kaum!“
Sure, no easier way than people using voice commands at checkout. Can't believe he really thinks that's a great idea. I'd hate that even if it would work absolutely flawless.

This all boils down to why we want Apple Pay and not any "bank inventions". I have yet to see a bank innovate in a way that Apple Pay is able to—the user experience is simply flawless. Not even N26 or bunq come close.

Let my banking institution deal with money, I'm happy if Apple innovates in this space and they just follow along.

Reminds me of 2007 when Apple ended the ability of mobile phone providers by taking away almost all of their abilities to put their own crap onto the phones.

Just yesterday I used PAYBACK PAY in a dm store and was reminded how horrific the user experience is. It literally takes more than 10 seconds for the barcode to show up. Any experience that makes you feel stupid at checkout is a bad experience.

Hey,

if you want to get a push notification for when the ApplePay Service File (https://smp-device-content.apple.com/static/region/v2/config.json) changes, I'm pushing this info out via https://pushover.net/. If you want to get notification let me know your pushover user key via "Conversation" here or on Twitter (@moehrenfeld) and I'll add you to the list.
I've created a Siri shortcut. With this command you can check if Apple Pay is available in Germany. I also created one for Austria.

For anyone who wants to create their own shortcut regarding Apple Pay, this is the basic construct.

OK, i have setup a content monitoring now. it works with git and is available public...

just got to the following link and you see the possible changes and version. the checkup runs every 60 seconds...

https://bitbucket.org/Alanin/apple-pay/commits/all

have fun

edit: for the ones not fluent with bitbucket. just go to the 'commits' and click on the commit-key (looks like a short hash). in green you see new content, red is removed/changed content. first commit will be all green, cause everything is new to the repository.

positive thing is that we are able to track all changes and the time of change
[doublepost=1544124907][/doublepost]could someone check if the repo is available for everyone?

I can access your repo without having a Bitbucket account.

Also, I think that's an awesome idea. Having diffs for this scenario is invaluable.
How did you set this up if you care to explain?

I have added he bash-script with the 'magic' to the repository, should be there in the next commit. then I have setup a cronjob which executes that script every minute
[doublepost=1544126010][/doublepost]haha: time to get use of that stuff I am doing every day at work ;-)

I'm a developer (Swift, Ruby/Rails) myself, that's why I'm curious. :)

So, basically a bash script that uses curl to download the json and commits and pushes it to your repo which only really happens when there was a change that gets triggered via cron? Simple and effective, I love it!

Let's hope we don't need it much longer. Still, it will be handy again once the rumors about Apple Pay Cash for Germany begin in a decade or two.

edit:
Ah, I misread your post. You even shared your script - awesome! So, my guess was pretty close except you're using wget instead of curl. o_O

Apple Deutschland hat zum Beginn der Woche ausgewählte Journalisten darum gebeten, sich doch den kommenden Dienstag freizuhalten.

BTW, ECG feature was released just a few hours ago in the US.
Let’s see how long that takes to reach DE.
Someday our grandkids will write a script and wait for it.
