BTW, ECG feature was released just a few hours ago in the US.
Let’s see how long that takes to reach DE.
Someday our grandkids will write a script and wait for it.
I think we can be optimistic, if they take the route via the EU and roll it out quickly after approval.

About Tuesday: Meh. I'm still (a bit) excited, but it's sort of worn off. For all those normal muggles out there, nothing has changed. But for us Apple Pay fans the wait since the 31st July has just been a tad too long. I'd rather not have known and got a "surprise" launch like in Belgium. Maybe Apple has learnt their lesson with how badly the "launch" in Germany has gone so far and will not provide any more announcements on new countries in the future? No more disappointments at least.

BTW had a "great contactless day" today!

First: New SumUp terminal at my local bakery. Girocard isn't accepted (haha, you "mobiles bezahlen" users :p), but Visa / MC / Amex and worked without any problems. Payed with Apple Pay, then on the way home walked past this billboard at the train station ... and had a look at the new bwegt / DB ticket machines with NFC (installed around 4-5 weeks ago, popping up all over BaWü and seem to be replacing the old DB-only ticket machines). It's all happening here!

If Apple had done its homework, europeans wouldn’t have to wait for ECG.

Did I miss something or are MC not supported anymore?

Apple holds ECG back on purpose in GER, this whole Apple Pay affaire would have caused to much heart attacks.

Come on Mr docfred, even you know that the percentage of customers with a credit card, especially a SPK MasterCard (Visa isn't even supported yet via "Mobiles Bezahlen") is relatively speaking small. ;) The guy in the bakery said he's seen some try with "some Sparkassen thingy", but it didn't work (probably Girocard users). He's had someone pay via Google Pay and I was the first with Apple Pay. Otherwise a few card users. Most still used cash though, of course!

They should have provided the EKG function, then they could track how rumours around the Apple Pay launch and the constant disappointments affect bank customers health - use this as a fact when drawing up the new contracts with banks. Apple: "If you want your customers to live a healthy and longer life, sign up for Apple Pay NOW. Here are the devastating statistics of what we saw in Germany in 2018!" o_O

well then... what does the bakery want with a payment terminal without GC support, if it is so small? :p

btw: the bakeries here accept MC/Visa/GC. Since nearly two years. Perhaps TÜ is not so bleeding edge? ;)

I would say it's even more cutting edge here now than elsewhere. Who wants Girocard. Yuck! ... Oh we're back into that discussion again. No, let's not get started. Just let me say: I'm convinced that in 5-10 years Girocard will become increasingly irrelevant, so will Paydirekt and the reds, the comrades and the other banks will see the light and adopt US debit payment networks. It's inevitable. But: To each his own. EDIT: Just checked, there are more credit cards issued in Germany than I thought. 36% of bank customers have one. Sadly there are no exact statistics on how many Debit cards are Girocard and/or other. Also usage is hard to track.

And on the other note: Tübingen is nice... for work. Come and visit, you might like it. On second thought: Maybe not. You might get into a punch up with the mayor. Agreed: There are nicer places on this planet.

Changed bash script is updated aswell

(Going to remove the unnecessary commits tomorrow, made the changes using my iPhone lying in bed, cannot be arsed to remove the commits using iPhone now...)
[doublepost=1544132943][/doublepost]and going to remove the lines with the date and cache control which is making a commit every minute...

I know TÜ. Lived and worked in S/LB and had a GF back then in TÜ. Nice small town for a silent WE... but nothing more.

To put even more data about every citizen in the US... kind of dark vision, don’t you think? :D

Seems to work. Had a change in headers caused by akamai serving the file from memory instead of disk.

Removed that specific event using sed

It's for new Apple iPod Socks.

Nope, Tim just called me. They are going to show an incredible new product which will be super astonishing. the AirPod Socks

Edit: he called a 2nd time. They have delayed the launch cause they were unable to produce and deliver my new watch. And they have thought it would be better to wait for that. He said I should call him or leave him a message when I’m ready.

Hey, this explaination is not more or less good as all the others that are floating around.

You should make a Twitteraccount „WatchPay“ and post the story. Two hours later you can read it on ifun and iPhone ticker :D

Very OT: Seems like this is a damn happy year for me: Apple Pay on Belgium, Transit in Belgium, Crash Team Racing remake... Another cherry on top of it before 2019 starts?

Less OT: Had an issue with using Apple Pay that my card wouldn't pop up anyone know why this can happen?
