I can imagine the Internet explodes tomorrow at around 6 - 8 AM.
Tbh, I dont think that so many people are waiting for it. They will just keep using cash.
And as long as Kneipen will keep sticking with cash, a cash-less life is not possible :(
I hope I am wrong and AP will change everything (I am not calling for the removal of cash, there are pros for it, I just want the opportunity to live a cashless life)

Today I went to the Christmas market in Frankfurt and I was so surprised seeing three stands in the whole city that accepted card payments. And as well, there are more and more bars accepting cards at least here in FFM at places which have a high traffic of English or Spanish speaking expats.

Nice!!
Absolutely missing this in Cologne. But this gives me hope, when one can buy Glühwein without cash :)

What event? o_O

He was talking about the "special event" right before the Belgium launch but never told the public why this is related to Apple Pay.
His other tweet is about a special event in Munich for journalists/tech influencer tomorrow morning

Ohh now his Tweets Are „protected and private“ only for Follower
He's getting ready for all the disappointed Apple Pay fans (protection!) and for having trolled the entire German media establishment

Or not...

But there has been a lot of hate for him under his tweets ... to be honest I think some have been going far beyond constructive criticism on his past predictions. For some it seems to be personal and - dare I say it - I hope it's not due to his name.

New atm installed by my local sparkasse but the nfc is not activated. I am wondering but it seems like sparkasse knows that there is nfc payment outside their kwitt und cash fetish bubble

Are there more atm like this in germany?

What's the purpose of such kind of event for journalists? Do they celebrate the AP start or what? :D

Trolls about cash fetish and has personal hate against certain banks but goes to their local ATMs? Well...

There are some of these here too. Don’t know if activated. Never tried as I only need very small amounts of cash. I think these machines are just the next logical step. If you get your customers used to tap their cards, they want it this way even at the ATM. And some might even leave their cards at home and just use their smartphone. So... put some NFC field on the atm. Why not?

Confirmed what? That you can use the Payback card? that's old news.

Afaik no. Paying payback users got an email informing about AP a while ago while the rest of us that are using the free version got nothing. There was some reasonable doubt therefore...

Amex and Santander: still not possible to add. Should it not be possible to add cards with different Region already?

One of the "Tuesday rumors" — I forgot which "source" — said that Apple Pay backend would be activated around 5 am with the launch being at 6 am. So going by that, the PAN should work only shortly before launch.

Also I don't think Santander will be in the first wave.
