Just changed my auto-top up to test - worked fine. so no problems with the update.

BTW i tested my "spain" Mastercard and Maestro from bunq with apple pay- worked perfectly. I dont think, that they will close that trick soon. the only "bad" thing about bunq is that you need premium account which costs 8€. so boon. is still cheaper even after 1year
You can even still get a working apple pay - n26 card without having the fear to get your account closed. its not easy like the old trick - but you can still get one.

Can u give a hint how to find out more about that new trick?

I just made a new N26 Account with my German address. I dont want to risk anything or something. Im pretty sure Apple Pay is coming in the Summer and if my Sparkasse doesnt support it, i will switch over to N26.

But you get so much more with bunq than with any other bank. Boon is just a virtuel mastercard. Bunq offers so many awesome possibilities like dual pin, multiple accounts, shared accounts, 3 cards of your choice, you can set your limits exactly the way you want, 10 free withdrawals per month, super quick customer service that really helps you and much much more... I love bunq. Dont want to advertise it but it really is worth the premium.

I still have to sign for Girocard payments at Rewe and Jet (granted, it's a SEPA Lastschrift). No one ever checks, but can't we just at least Chip+PIN (if we're not using Apple Pay?!).

Strange. Here all Rewe I know in this metropolitan area have shifted the payment terminals to the customer side. You insert the card yourself (or just hold it over the terminal, if you have NFC cards) and enter the pin. since years.

the last store I know, that used ELV, was Kaufland. But they also changed to "self service" at the payment terminal about a year ago, as they upgraded to NFC terminals :)

Same here. Everything is changed, so I can use NFC with my Visa card. just Marktkauf and Penny are not accepting credit cards at all. everywhere else I can use my NFC CC. Just a few small shops dont accept CC, but I think the terminals are NFC ready...

but most cashiers are used to take the card from the customer and doing the NFC stuff themselves. if u dont hand them the card they are kinda waiting and when they understand that u wont hand them the card they turn around the terminal. will be funny when I wanna pay using my watch someday...

It is just behind some more speculation date, as WWDC is beginning of June and some Apple Pay Could be announced there.
But hey, if you read the other tweets around it, they already had the same number of rumor start dates then we have here.

I would think, that only Apple Nerds that also Test beta and so on might use it. But the longer it takes to start in Germany natively, the more people tend to do the step over Ireland. Just had two buddies of mine who always said: I will wait until it comes to Germany

The number of payments with Apple Pay in Germany will be just some random noise below measurability in the stats.

Some Apple fans and freaks might use it but no bigger number.

Someone used a credit card top-up today?

I just got an mail from boon that my auto top-up didn´t work.

The mail came exactly at the time I made the payment that decreased my balance under my defined top-up barrier and of course I can see in my boon account that the auto top-up didn´t work.

And also manually credit card top-up in the app is not working for me. I tried both: Before the update and after the update. Makes no difference.

I can clearly say that the standard reasons they mentioned in the mail are not apply to me.

I used a Sparkasse credit card that worked multiple times before. Is it possible that my bank permanently blocked wirecard, maybe because the system detects it as a possible fraud for the regular top-up?

If someone of you needs to update his balance by the minimum of 10€ coincidentally today, it would be nice if he can give me feedback if it´s working for him :D

I just wanted to give you feedback in case someone runs into the same problem in the future. Today after nearly one week Boon contacted me and informed me that they solved the problem with my creditcard top-up and that it should be working again. And of course it does. They said to me that they had an internal problem.

So in case you just have to write them and send them the information which top-up failed (they need a timestamp) The boon service departement was very kind all the time and fortunately I had enough balance on my boon account for that week to survive

And so today more banks for Spain and Italy... https://9to5mac.com/2018/04/17/apple-pay-us-canada-italy-spain-china/

By the way: Has anyone here got any experience with N26 / bunq and using Apple Pay with a Germany based account? Especially with people adding cards after the cutoff point with bunq. PM would also be appreciated!

I‘m using N26 with my german Account and a French card. It was possible to order a french card just by switching the parceladress to „fr“.
Does anybody knows, wheather it is still working?

I was in the US last week and i was shocked how often the magnetic stripe is used. Im not wondering anymore that Apple Pay has this low marked share. It not possible just to go out with only your iphone. Even in metropolitan regions.

If i compare the pos in the us and germany, i would say that you if you are able to pay with credit card the chance to pay with AP is much higher in Germany than in the US.
But: If the store is not suppoting AP(in the US), but the terminal supports contactless payment you cannot pay with AP
Germany: AP not launched yet but if there is a NFC terminal you can pay with the Workarounds. Does that means, if AP is available in Germany and the shopowner does not accept AP it will not work anymore?

How did you order the new card? Did you mark the old one as lost, broken or did you choose „other“? And is the old card still usable after activating the new one?

Boon. did some “optimisation” on auto top-up some weeks ago. Now the later 1:1 top-up isn’t selectable anymore there will always be a minimum gap of 10€.
If you already had it setup 1:1 and did not change it yourself, you are good to go. We’ll see if this will be subject to change in the future.

So be advised, don’t change your auto top-up setting if you still have it on 1:1 and want to keep it.
