English: I’ve asked a friend who is working for Sparkasse in adminsitration. He asked a colleague who told him that AP will start in Germany this year and with all Sparkassen.

I don’t know how „correct“ this information is. But wanted to share

Very interesting article, also saw that Visa Germany recently advertised Allianz Prime (the app for mobile payment with a virtual Visa card, similar to boon.), although it's not on the market here. So maybe Allianz sees the opportunity to move into the payment space here. Then again they've just invested plenty into N26, so don't see why they would possibly cut into that market.

Next week I'm at the Sparkasse event and will, as I've promised, report back.

In the meanwhile, we will be patient and have some more beer

Everything‘s gonna be alright :D
..Rise up this mornin'
Smiled with the risin' sun
3 little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin' sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true
Sayin, this is my message to you-ou-ou! :D

Today I got an interesting error in the NS App (App of Dutch National Railway)

“Apple Pay is not available while you are using “Reisplanner””

The error pops up when going to an in-app ticket. The error shows in both Dutch (when the phone is set to Dutch) and English (when set to English). It always shows, regardless of the Apple Pay enabled/added state.

Edit: As it turns out, this "error" is caused by this API in the Passkit Framework: https://developer.apple.com/documen...equestautomaticpasspresentation?language=objc

Partly on-, partly offtopic: https://www.it-finanzmagazin.de/201...ionen-girocard-mobile-kommt-mitte-2018-69711/

"Mit der digitalen girocard können Kunden durch Vorhalten ihres NFC-fähigen Android-Smartphones zahlen."

That sentence is the first time I have actually read "Android-Smartphone" in this context. Now that's either an error by the author of that article or that's what is heading towards us...
It‘s the only platform to confirm. So what else should they write?

Perhaps Apple „zickt mal wieder herum“ :D

I think that’s the way it is with , no 3rd Party payment app with iPhone NFC. Period.
And btw I’m happy with that. It’s part of how the  ecosystem works and it does well so and much better then Android or Windows if there is even such thing as an ecosystem with Android or Windows OS.

I think it is safe to say that there will be no girocard mobile on iOS other than if it got implemented in ApplePay.
Afaik there is no local „card mobile“ on iOS. All cards have to go through ApplePay.

As Android keeps the doors open for App developers, every Bank can develop its own payment app. And many banks do that. Even boon.

But this has nothing to do with Apple and iOS.

Of course not!

It was just a question of semantics.

You surely remember the trials by some Australian Banks to force  to open NFC on iPhones to their own apps, do you not?

In my opinion their is a great chance that our own Sparkasse and Volksbanken are trying to do such thing.
Their is a lot of hybris for sure.
Just look at “EHI Karte” and how they celebrate their Girocard. #justmytwocents

How likely is it, that Apple will announce in more European countries (maybe even Germany?) this earnings call on May, 1st, next week? If you consider, that it took two month for Apple to bring AP to Brazil, after the announcement on Feb. 1st. And many people are speculating, that AP will be introduced this summer. So an announcement could be possible? What do you think?

Edit: And sorry for my (very, very) bad English.
