Well, thats quite an exact prediction. Are there any sources for that?
No. I'm just going by the fact, that new banks are now regularly activated in the first week of a month (and have been in recent months). If all systems are go with Consorsbank, then April would be the next slot. This is assuming Apple sticks to their regular schedule, hence "I assume" and not "I know that".

Revolut app was just updated, and it has Wallet support. Unfortunately I don't know if the functionality was added earlier but at least they are ready.

Also, Revolut now has a scheduled maintenance on March 17th, from 03:00 AM - 07:00 AM (GMT). Although that is a Sunday.

If you click on the google cache (small arrow on the link when you search in google) for the Revolut App on iTunes you can see that Version 5.37 already had Wallet support.

But the google cache site is from last week. So I'm not able to view an earlier version of the site.
And the service "webarchive" also don't have cached the site.

Wallet support has been available for a year or so now, as Revolut allows top-ups through Apple Pay enabled cards.

Also their wording on social media has changed from "coming soon" to "... once we have something to share, we'll be sure to let you know". Maybe Apple doesn't like all the rumours circulating about Revolut and their practices, I'm sure Apple Pay integration is now a fairly low priority for the business.

They allow top-up through Apple Pay, yes. But having Apple Pay as a payment option will not trigger the "Supports Wallet" flag in the App Store, look at other apps supporting Apple Pay payments like Deliveroo.

I do think Apple couldn't care less. They went with Deutsche Bank as a launch partner and their track record has been somewhat spotty :D (am a happy customer nonetheless)

It does if it involves card top-ups, money transfer or adding cards to Wallet (see ie. Starbucks or TransferWise). They've all had "Supports Wallet" for a very long time.

Revolut is basically a dodgy eMoney company with a spotty company history. They can't even get basic compliance right.

Say what you want about the others, but they are at least proper banks under strict regulatory watch.

Starbucks has Wallet support not for using Apple Pay for top-ups, it has Wallet support because you can add your Starbucks card as a pass with a barcode.

I remember an article about Revolut back then that Apple Pay is contingent on their own banking license (which apparently has been granted in Lithuania now but is not been implemented yet fully... idk details). Features and app are top notch but their CEO and recent press is cringeworthy at best.

See what I wrote above... "or adding cards to Wallet". Once PassKit is implemented in some form into the code, the App Store automatically adds these badges (see here: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/passkit). DKB has also had the Wallet badge for a while, because barzahlen.de allows you to add the barcode for cash deposits/withdrawals to Wallet.

I use Revolut for FX, but other than that I would never ever trust them with any decent amount of money. I had debated upgrading to premium, but for that price I don't get that many benefits and for 2€ less I can get a proper bank account with a brick and mortar bank. Reading through FinTech blogs, listening to other FinTech CEOs talk about Revolut and recent talk on 11:FS gave me enough of an impression that it is a company I would not switch to. It is currently possible that Revolut could loose their Lithuanian banking licence before it even takes effect.

There are plenty of other FinTechs to use and even for travelling Revolut has proven to have worse rates than other cards and accounts I have. The only benefit are virtual currency account but it's more of a gamble than actually saving you money.

Personally I'd keep my eyes peeled on Starling launching this year.

I used Revolut for some € / $ exchange in the past but from what I've read about the company's ethics, their CEO and other reports about Revolut, I wouldn't use them as a real bank account. They try to move fast but then often can't deliver (they promise ApplePay for years now).

On other "news": I have been using the app "Too good to go" recently where you can get meals or baked goods shortly before the shop/restaurant/bakery closes for a discounted price. I was pleasantly surprised that the app supports ApplePay! Paying from within the app is super easy and quick. I think all shopping apps should include that :)

Amex is really bad in recent weeks. Shell, Aral and Rewe used to work perfectly. For a few weeks now, acceptance has declined somewhat. Yesterday Shell and Rewe terminals completely refused Amex via Apple Pay and I had to use my physical card. It's starting to get really annoying.

My Visa and MasterCards work perfectly though as ever. I'm also very, very happy with the overall service and product with Deutsche Bank and glad I switched. Well deserved and the overall UX will be improving massively in the next few months due to the new APIs, apparently including instant push being integrated into the main app and lots of other cool stuff. I was debating getting bunq again to play around with (esp. because of the maestro card), but as Girocard support is incoming and comdirect is working on implementing their debit card (the VPay part), I think I'll wait for the developments this year... 2019 is definitely a great follow-up to a fantastic launch for Germany. Very pleased so far and can't wait for my remaining banks to launch. France has also seen many big additions (HSBC, BNP Paribas/Hello bank, La Banque Postale, ...) in the last few months, so it seems that slowly but surely Apple is gaining traction with the big holdout banks and countries. Will be interesting to see if Apple can fill the last gaps on the European Apple Pay coverage map (esp. Netherlands) this year.

Has someone already real-life tested the acceptance of Girocard contactless vs. MC/Visa contactless?
Im curious about that, especially with the upcoming Girocard in Apple Pay function. (I dont have Girocard contactless)

BTW... during IDS2019 (last Friday) I talked to Apo Bank and they said that they are aiming for a launch in the third or fourth quarter this year... and GPay is off the table... they "say" they are super worried about privacy that's why it's taking so long and that's why GPay is off the table...

Can't talk about Girocard contactless, but I regularly encounter shops where Apple Pay with Maestro works, but Apple Pay with MasterCard wont. There a AP Girocard would help, too.

Well comdirect announced a while back that they were bringing the VPay part of their Girocard to Apple and Google Pay. Girocard contactless is supported at less places than MasterCard (incl. Maestro). If you have Maestro/VPay and VISA/MasterCard, you will usually not have any problems. It’s only very seldom that you will come across Girocard only terminals and if you do, it’s usually because the owners are stuck in an old contract and their terminal hasn’t been upgraded with NFC yet.

Somewhere on the internet you can pick out the numbers.

Only one location here that does not accept gc contactless. Support gets wide spreaded, 20% of gc Payments are already done contactless. And with AP/GP support later this year, ist will gain even more impact.

BTW: online and InApp payment is coming. MC/Visa won‘t be very glad to here that ;)

I don’t think they’ll be too bothered. I can hardly imagine that the big retailers will be racing to implement yet another Germany focused online payment scheme (after the many others that have failed, including Paydirekt).

They implement what people want. People want what they already have and know. And if what people want also offers lower costs... here we go.

But honestly, I've never heard anybody wanting online payment support for Girocard

Well no one maybe said explicitly that they want Girocard but they probably did say „o how cool would it be if I wouldn’t need to have a credit card or PayPal for this online shopping thing.. „

Apple added this to the main json file

"MarketGoesURL": "https://smp-device-content.apple.com/static/region/v2/marketgeos.json"

Seems like public transport is coming in 12.2 and 12.3 in CN and JP

JP with Suica and CN with public transport in Beijing has been supported for a while now... Not sure why this has only been added now or what "marketgeos" actually stands for?

It'll be interesting to see if Apple finally rolls out support for Apple Pay Cash in Europe (through a partner bank), while the Apple Pay Credit Card is probably going to be US only for the time being. Then again, Goldman Sachs is now active in the UK as well with some retail banking services and savings products (through their brand "Marcus") and announced last year, that Germany was next up. Who knows, maybe Apple might see Germany as a test site for their new card in Europe?

After all: If they are betting on services as the main source of income in future, they're going to need to be a lot more agile and faster expansion than taking years to roll-out Apple Pay or News to new countries.

There are rumors that
the CEO of Goldman will be participating in the event on Monday.
